They're from New Orleans. Search for the Black New Orleans Indians and you should be able to find them Shawn. I shot some video of them when I was down there. I'm not a big fan but I did put some video online.

how long does it take to prepare an outfit like that are they handed down what are the names of the parts and what specific meaning do they have if they have any at all. looks like a lot of preperation
@ambienttechno6 жыл бұрын
usually if you go to a powwow, the mc will talk about what the parts of the regalia means. you can also search online for more on the history of the dance. best to see it in person and experience it. thanks for asking. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fancy_dance

awesome info it just shows a tiny part of a culture that i have come to realize just how little i know. the immense variety of native culture is what really stands out to me it can be a little overwhelming. I have just begun recently to really try to dig in to what information is out there the sad part is that as far as written historical text it only goes so far,until I found a book "Great Speeches By Native Americans" Ironically i purchased it at the Library Of Congress in Washington D.C. it has given me a place to start. This book affected me more than i ever imagined, so thank you for sharing this with me and I hope someday to have the opportunity to witness one of these events in person. This book sparked a desire to learn more of this history that is important to all of us. o yea the book is by Dover Publications if you ever had the time and maybe you could pass on to me some other great information that can help me even more THANK YOU

AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL NATIVE AMERICANS & AMERICANS I am a white American with pure English blood line with name Craft and I am not proud of the past and my family did not participate in the extension of the Native Americans and I do not like what I see for the future. I pledge to you I will spend my time and energy to teach the American people that until the country as a hole Pay the native Americas back with Land and money this country can not progress any further. Did you know that in the 1960 when the Cuban's came to Florida the government payed them $800.00 mo. for every man, woman, child, child, child, grama. granpa, aunt and uncle.in the house hold. this is back when you could buy Volkswagen bug for $3.000. They bought cars, homes, and businesses they built little Havana in Miami and they are very wealthy Americans now and you never hear about them being poor and run down. Time to give you what your due Land & Money A CALL TO ALL AMERICANS MAKE THIS RIGHT FOR COUNTRY SOLE. AS A COUNTRY WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE BEGENNING AND CORRECT OUR FORFATHERS FIRST MISTAKE. UNTILL WE CORRECT THIS THERE IS NO WAY THIS COUNTRY CAN MOVE FORWARD IN AN HONORABLE WAY. MR.CRAFT

Correct me if i'm wrong, but to my knowledge eastern peoples adopted non indians to their communities for centuries. The result? Mixed blood tribal members...
@CitizenofTatooine6 жыл бұрын
I'm not American Indian, but even I know that eastern tribes are heavily mixed with whites and africans.
