1.0 player and really enjoy Grendel so forgive my ignorance but what’s the deal with the Whirlwind cancel style of gameplay?

Whirlwind is used here mostly for healing. Rallying Cry talent, that heals you, proc on ability use, so canceling Whirlwind to press it again allows you to have a sustain bursts of healing. Rallying Cry stacks in intencity for a short duration, so more procs in a raw - more healing, if you (or your teammates) need it. Also, Whirlwind depleets quite quickly, so canceling it allows you to keep a better control over when you want to use it. It's a hybrid buld and so Whirlwind still deal some decent damage numbers, but regular weapon attacks hits harder and powers up Weapon Ability, wich is the hardes hitter of all here. But even going full Ability Power build, you probably whould want to have Rallying Cry anyway and will cancel Whirlwind to proc it just the same way.

@@Psycorde Anything that scales well with hybrid and you find cool enough I prefer those: The Renegade - one of the best Rush echos, probably Kolaar the Beastmaster, despite it being proc on crit, it still procs quite reliably for some fun effects and it's a hybrid scaled Aturach the Deathless, WP scaled Teryssa the Silence, AP scaled Dread Legion Equilibrium Tho I don't think any of Rush echoes are actually that important.

I use Avaricious Acolyte set - the set bonus is good and the stats distribution is almost perfect with only Crit being not quite needed. There might be more optimised sets, but I cared not to look for.

@@SoftshellHardcore True, I'm running a 16GB 4060ti and runs well over 100-120 fps with max settings, but there are instances when the frames tank below 50 fps for no reason. Hope they manage to tweak the optimization.
