*I don't know why Wayland Flowers is never mentioned when there's talk about influential comedians. He was absolutely brilliant at improv. Madam had a come-back for everything; never had to stop to think about it. Flowers definitely deserves credit.*

SO MANY GREAT PEOPLE HAVE PAST AWAY, HOWEVER, THE SCRIPTURES MAKE IT MOST CLEAR REGARDING THOSE THAT OUR FATHER DEEMS WORTHY John 5:28-29 21 KJV "28 Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice 29 and shall come forth - they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."

@glenngibson92013 жыл бұрын
Madame says, "An actress, [then they mute the dialog for the second one], or an interior designer." Since it was a close-up of the puppet with Wayland being out of frame there is no way of knowing what he said. And it's the second one that is key for the joke to work. I'm assuming it was "off-color" else why would they mute his mic or audio? Hope this helps.

most of the normal layer of society lives life as it comes and doesn't pay attention to how and why of most of systems of our lives. but maybe time to shake things up and do some of deep thinking as to why should you be prison of your instalments... your life has been divided into those, whether you rent or pay mortgages, your insurances, your educations pay off installments, your car installments, your furniture to maybe all appliances clubs everything YOUR LIFE IS IN INSTALLMENTS... Even till death.

I feel like in the 1970's everyone was much more comfortable, and it would not have been unusual for a puppeteer to be barefoot at a children's show on on stage like this, but I grew up around hippies. It would not have surprised me back then.
@albundie66896 жыл бұрын
Wait. You can see his lips moving. I mean, is he supposed to be a ventriloquists, or what's going on here? If it's a puppet show shouldn't he at least be behind a screen or something?
@hankaustin70916 жыл бұрын
no.. he's never called himself a ventriloquist... you must be about 12 years old not to know who this guy was or what his act was all about.
@LarryH546 жыл бұрын
It's a different style. If you'll notice, the Muppet puppeteers do the same thing when you see them.
@scharles916013 жыл бұрын
It may be someone handling a puppet like when Mr. Roger's would manipulate King Friday, a character of his PBS children's show, or someone from above pulling the strings of a marronette, very often the success of the act rested on the extent to which the puppet "came to life." Many programs feature puppets with their handlers hidden from camera views purposely to heighten the appearance of animation since the "dolls" or "dummies" look as if they were carrying-on on their own accord. The same goes as to whether the audience can see a ventriloquist (the handler and one providing voice for the puppet) moving his lips while the puppet speaks. The best acts- like Waylan's and Madadme-worked because the character itselft was original, funny, fully realized, and so engaging that it's able to hold the uninterrupted attention of the audience-making the matter of what the handler is doing unimportant since no one is paying attention to the handler.
