This song sums up perfectly what I believe...Waylon has always been one of my favorite artists...This song is brilliantly written and performed....Not a single country artist can mathch Waylons vocals and delivery of his music...Thanks for keeping this Great music alive ...Country music needs to hear this and return to the roots it came from. Not the watered down 80's rock and roll they play now...Peace...Carl

Got this cd cpl weeks ago. This song stood out. I listen to it over and over again. Finally! Waylon sang the words I always wanted to say. Politics and religion is a bad mix. Be kind to one another. Do the best you can. Believe in something greater than yourself. There is no other way to fly away on that one glad morning.

This past September Waylon's Last Recordings were finally released and the album is wonderful....You'll find all the songs but for one on my channel so you can "sample" the songs...There's an acoustic version of the album as well!! I don't think this version is nearly as good as the Highwaymen version. While everybody loves the bad ass Waylon, his quiet introspective songs like this, get overlooked.

Marianne Menon ~ You know, Waylon was never able to promote "Goin Down Rockin'" because he passed away before he could tour. I wish there were some way that you and his many fans would encourage people to purchase the album instead of video taping it. Additionally, I was hoping that the family would consider trying to open another Waylon Museum. Maybe they could if monies could be generated. They're selling and auctioning of a lot of his memorabelia as you've probably heard or read about. what do you think?
