This was so scenic, so now I want to go back and copt this! I'm always afraid about being rear ended by an inattentive driver behind me. I've heard that the Tesla software sometimes predicts a rear end and moves forward slightly, but I don't know if this has been confirmed or just imagined. (I just got the invitation by Waymo to try it out in Los Angeles!)

What does the car do in between riders? Does it go back station to wait for more riders?

We don't really know, but I think it wanders around waiting for more riders, probably coordinating with the fleet to spread out in an optimal pattern
