Our problem is that we do not believe God can include us in His plans. We just don't believe. Phil 2:13 says we are to work for Him. We have been lead to believe a lie that it is all bout us. God does not stop to check our plans and then team up with us. He expects us to drop our plans to team up with HIM.

I've only been a believer for a year of my life. I did not go looking for him. Indeed he came and found me and saved me. Testimony for another time. What I've noticed that's really bothering me though I've visited a handful of churches now. One thing I've began to really pay attention to that I do t not believe at all is sitting well with the Holy spirit. Is Christians persecuting Christians. I've noticed. If you know more scripture. They think they are more christian. If their testimony to him is deeper. More dramatic. They are more Christian. I've been out here trying to lead other people to him. To help them fight with their addictions just by giving them one small taste of the freedom I've been so fortunate to have by his grace. For what. So they can see this side of things. And see that even if they do decide to follow. They can still be judged yet even worse by fellow believers....so sad

I was raised an atheist humanist, found an interfaith spiritual path early on with the transpersonal, transcendent Chinese Tao, and explored my way to loving how my University education was behind my high school education and modern Civil Rights democratic society that in fact was developed by Christians in monasteries doing spiritual practice. I didn´t need to practice Buddhism to be a Buddhist. I was practicing Buddhism, and more to find my way to God´s love. And that was through Jesus specifically starting in my first healing denomination, and how my vision began offering the revelation like some combination of Thomas Aquinas, Luther, and well, Thomas Clarkson led the pioneering anti-slavery movement because of his revelation, but he joined up with Quaker-Friends. Quaker Friends were led in being co-founded by George Fox a hundred years earlier, with Marg Fell and William Penn interesting examples of co-founders. Fox affirmed the simple worship through silent waiting on the Inner Light of Christ. I´m grateful to see that Lauren has come up with her "great recipe" as well.

Actually, I was raised atheist humanist, and valuing education. I became an identifying Christian when I realized that God´s love through Jesus and his love meant I was actually learning important things thanks to understanding my college degree in Bio Anthro and interfaith path based on comparative religious studies. I got baptized, but that wasn´t nearly as powerful as my earlier spiritual growth experiences. It´s more like a kind of certification now as I see my faith not in any one denomination, but through globalized University-based society, US Civil Rights, and UN human rights-sustainability in Jesus´ living and spiritual-religious legacy and its relation to his loving integrity and our own relation to that. Time to see that we have already done "greater things", and that keeping our gratitude to the living God through Jesus is now in need of spiritual modernization by including the appropriate lessons of other spiritual traditions. Ideological materialism isn´t just affecting progressives. Who is it that doesn´t question profiteering businesspeople´s ways of thinking? God bless you, and stay connected to Divine Love. You are a child of God if you seek it, not merely a "sinner." If I can ever join your group, I´d be interested.

That is SOOO TRUE !! Can we just let her be and cheer for her success she regularly honor and talk with love & pride about Jesus not only that she uses God’s gifts to write songs about him !! For Christ’ sake . Lauren is a normal Human being who is gifted and She Knows it . Her music is the fruit Of her obedience to God and she know that too! The lyrics in her songs are a great testimony of that too . Because in one interview she did not mention the word of God, some people think she is suddenly lost and denying GOD ?!!! The real problem amongst us Christians is that many of us focus too much on our weaknesses, that are human by the way, instead of praying/ genuinely supporting each other during spiritual warfare . So please, can we just all remind ourselves in John 8:7, what JESUS says : “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her”. The word also says that WE MUST LOVE EACH OTHER the SAME WAY GOD LOVE US . I LOVE YOU LAUREN. And I THANK JESUS for making YOU SPREADING THE GOOD NEW FROM YOUR AMAZING SONGS . Ps : GOD gave her the Talent but let’s not forget that SHE IS ALSO HIS ARTIST who has the courage, obedience & discipline to follow his WITH A FULLY WIDE OPEN HEART to TRUST HIM & SHARE IT to the world . I believe we should use Lauren as an example of what a Miraculous/ wonderful Life GOD can create for each one of us when we completely surrender to him . I pray for you Lauren that the Lord preserve you/ protect you and keep filling up your heart, soul & mind , that he replenishes you and pour into your life his infinite blessings . Be blessed And Thank YOU for being such a wonderful & beautiful woman/ firm believer & miraculous creation of Jesus Christ . @jeffreyelya99965 жыл бұрын
Clicked on this video thinking it was something of a different topic. I've got two things to post. Lauren said that she turned her phone off and sat on her porch. Take a life lesson from an introvert (that's me), my phone is off from 12:30 to just after 3 in the afternoon at work because that's usually my 'dead time' if I'm going to be on it, and it helps save battery life. Also, I'm on Twitter, but not Facebook. I'm on Twitter maybe four or five times a week, but I choose not to do Facebook because A, I don't like it and B, I don't want my personal life being flashed all over the internet. Again, I said that I'm an introvert. The second thing I'd like to mention is that there's a huge, HUGE thing about Lauren's personal life when it comes to Christianity. I've heard maybe two of her songs, but I watched about three videos on her spirituality, and honestly, if she's not professing herself as a 'sold out believer' or part of the 'community' at large, I'd rather turn the music off and listen to someone else. Didn't take me long to realize she has a pride issue. I'm not pointing this out, I'm simply saying that either she's playing hypocrite, or Lauren is and has figured it out. Oh, and by the way, I'd suggest turning your phone off during that church service of yours. It's rude to not only the preacher, but the people around you.

She is a pop artist of the world. Talented yes, but , is it true gospel?
@2timothy235 жыл бұрын
Vivian, unfortunately it is not. The true gospel talks about repentance and trusting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior that rose from the dead (Romans 1:16, 10:9-13, John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-3). While her music is not offensive, it is vague, which is why the unsaved world embraces it. They don't feel offended or threatened by it because it doesn't proclaim their need to repent and be saved. Whenever "Christian" music is subtle or vague (particularly leaving out Christ's name and not being specific about the gospel or even having lyrics that could pertain to a boy friend), the lost will like it because it lets them embrace a type of spirituality without worrying that their sins will ultimately bring judgment (Revelation 20:11-14).
@2timothy235 жыл бұрын
@J J My comments are not based on mega churches, but the Word of God. Christ says that the unsaved world hates Him, God the Father, and Christians in John 15:18-23. Romans 8:5-8 says the carnal (unsaved) mind is hostile against God, therefore no one in their sinful flesh can please God. Ephesians 2:1-3 tells us sinners are dead in trespasses and sins, and they are children of wrath and disobedience by their very nature, actually following the ways of the world dictated by the devil. And 1 Corinthians 1:18 says the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those that are perishing, which is the unsaved. Based on scripture, if the specific gospel is preached or even given in a song, unless God the Father is drawing them to the Son (John 6:37-44), they will hate the message. Down deep, many Christians know this and want to emphasize God's love (which they should in the right context) over God's wrath against sinners. In this way, many Christian artists sing songs about God's love, grace, and mercy as if sinners we're victims instead of the breakers of God's laws according to 1 John 3:4. So the gospel is offensive because sinners are offended, not because Christians are trying to be offensive. Yet if we leave out the parts we know will offend sinners (the fact that they are sinners, the fact they need to repent and believe, and the fact that there is eternal punishment), we know they will love the Jesus we present because we leave the offensive parts out. In many ways, singers like Lauren will make songs that are vague or unspecific about God's attributes or the name of Jesus Christ to make the unsaved crowd happy. Yet they will remain happy right until they die and go to hell unless they believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord and God the Father raised Him from the dead, confessing it with their mouths according to Romans 10:9-13.

J J the gospel, the word of God, is supposed to bring people to repentance. It’s supposed to offend. It’s sharper than a two edged sword and is used for rebuking and correcting. Without that, it would just be petting people down and letting them stay sin sick and say that it’s ok to be that way when it’s not. @@annefink3885 While we shouldn't over criticize any Christian in the public spotlight, we also mustn't make observations other Christians make about Laurel and think they're necessarily Pharisees. Calling other Christians pharisees when they make comments is not right as well. The Pharisees believed their good works saved them, which is why Jesus Christ denounces them in Matthew 23. I doubt anyone is saying her works justify her before God. I think Christians are just making discerning observations about public statements Laurel or any other Christian makes in an interview. It's not always meant as a bash, but sometimes as genuine concern. The world can suck you in and this is the reason Romans 12:1-2, 1 John 2:15-17, and James 4:4 seriously warn Christians to be careful. And we are salt and light to the world according to Jesus (Matthew 5:13-16) and the scriptures tell us to walk in holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16). I'm not saying Laurel isn't doing this based on this interview, but we need to be careful about how we represent ourselves as Christians. And just mentioning God without Jesus can be a problem since Christ is the only way to God the Father (John 14:6). Without Christ's name, which "god" are people talking about? Pray for Laurel because she is in a tough spotlight, but her own interview shows that her struggles are like ours, but the bigger spotlight leads to greater temptation.

Knowing our identity in Christ matters because it is the preliminary phase before our words and actions follow, before they start to reflect the touch of Jesus Christ in our lives. We are told in Scripture to always "be ready to convince", and to "always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you" -(1 Peter 3.15; 2 Timothy 4.2)

There are practical approaches that could help ground youth. Step 1 - get sugar out of their diet. Step 2 - All schools should require students to grow things in a garden 1 hour each day. Step 3 - Put music back in schools at all grades. Finally, require each class to set aside 15 minutes of quiet time, once per day, meaning no phones, no social interaction, and for those who want to utilize the time for prayer or meditation, no criticism allowed from external sources or from fellow classmates. Imagine, a quiet school, where students are fed real sugar free nutritious food, where they grow and harvest food, learn music, and have 15 minutes each day of quiet time. I'd go back to school...

I believe this is one of the realest post out of them all. She is talented but as you listen to her she's a babe in Christ and ignorant (meaning "don't know") to the Word of God. She's not rooted because of her childlike responses. Very dangerous however she should seek God's face and we as Christians should continue to lift her up in prayer. However it's a necessity to search and seek God's Word as He reveal all things to us through the Holy Spirit. We cannot continue to be in error and it's evident she's in error. God bless

i love her music and i respect her and i'm a Huge fan, but i feel like she's an artist who happens to sing music about her relationship with God and she got labeled a "Christian singer" i havent come across anything yet (im currently looking)... where she identifies as a Christian singer in fact i saw an interview on 104.3 myfm where they ask her if she considers herself a Christian singer or just a singer and she said she considers her self an Artist... and honestly thats her choice. Avril lavigne is considered pop rock and recently came out with a beautiful Christian song... but it doesn't change her genre right. And i saw that alot of people are hating and judging Lauren over her performance on Ellen.... it really made me sad As a Christian myself.... it really really made me sad because according to the message i get from the bible God loves us all unconditionally so much so that he died for us... it would be ignorant to only love some people and not other because of their preferences.... thats their journey and their walk with God not my place to Judge. i guess what i'm trying to say is lets stop expecting perfection from our fellow brothers and sisters and understand we are all just trying to figure things out why be so hard on a person who isnt really causing hate or anything of that sort and if she was would being hard and hateful help the cause? anyways thats my opinion.
