This is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. A gentleman and extremely talented man. A genius instrument builder. About the only thing he doesn't actually make himself are the tuning keys and the fretwire. I visited his shop a few years ago and watched him craft a new bridge from scratch in about 20 minutes while he was talking on the phone! Herb Key and Don Wilson are two of the other extremely talented guys that work with Wayne. They were very patient and offered to share their knowledge. Wayne Henderson is a national treasure.

So humble that he pulls out the Martin rather than one he built 😃. His guitars may not be any better than a Martin but it’s the fact HE made them that makes his so cool! Just a humble southern good ole boy who whittles out guitars with a pocket knife. It doesn’t get any cooler than that! It’s the man himself that makes his guitars so great to me. I’m on the other side of the mountains in Kentucky so Wayne is definitely my kind of people 👍🏻

I live in the same mountains as Wayne. Very proud to say that I know him and absolutely think the world of him too! I don't have a guitar yet, but my names on the "list" 😁 May never get around to making me one but that's ok, I enjoy stopping by talking with him and hearing some of his cool stories. And GO RED SOX!!!!! ⚾️

What a guy. Heard he treats everyone the same, so Eric Clapton has to wait as long as the next man lol. I understand why pre war Martins are sought after, but those Henderson guitars are every bit as good imo.
