Wayne is on the nicest guys I have EVER met! Very gentle and glad to answer silly questions. I am very fortunate to get to know Wayne and many other music and bluegrass folks in the mountains of VA and NC.

He is a gentleman and a luthier's luthier. And man can he play!! Thanks for the video and the insight offered. Enjoyable. By the way the last tune was Freight Train by Elizabeth Cotton. Not Wheels.

I guess all the guys about his age from the mountains play Freight Train (closing tune). I've heard my dad play that a thousand times... Wish I'd learnes to play it.

2:44 "I can play a little bit," there's no need to be quite so modest dude, I would get pelted with beer bottles and dead cats if I said I played guitar .. when I hear someone talk like that I like to recognize a kindred spirit. Then when he plays like you do I have to go back to feelin' like lonely loser again .. I go on pokin', plinketty plinkin' and proddin' away just the same but I will never be any good :) gruesome innit, cheers.

Amazing video. I loved it. How much would it cost to for a guitar like that one he was playing? The last guitar he played in the video. Where in VA is his shop located? Great video thanks for sharing.
@JoshLovesItReviews7 жыл бұрын
I think $25,000+, but might be off by a lot now!
@thomastommy11927 жыл бұрын
JoshLovesIt it's a beautiful great sounding guitar. But no way I'd pay that. A Martin D-45 list for less than ten thousand dollars. They always go up in value.
@ShootYourRadio4 жыл бұрын
I think if you go to a shop they range from 3 to five grand. But if you go to a dealer that baught them off him. They are about $25,000.

How does someone contact Wayne? Current no. is not working.

+shecky308 I'm afraid you'd have to drive to his workshop or contact his daughter if you're interested in one of her guitars/ukes (he usually helps on them). Check my blog post.

Thanks partner.!got number for daughter??

+shecky308 I do, but I don't give it out. This is the only other way to contact her: theluthiersapprentice.blogspot.com/ But I wouldn't bother them unless it's about buying an instrument. They get a lot of people wanting to chat.
