My best friend and I had front row seats once at his show . I brought his book and held it in my lap hoping for an autograph.. He saw it and asked me, "What do you have there ?".... I was so suprised that I could not respond , I just handed him the book.. He asked, " Where did you get this?" ... . He held it up to the audience and talked about it briefly... I was so shocked and thankfull that he didn't ask me on stage to sing one of his songs..lol... His public relation person gave the book back after the show.. inside the cover was signed .." To my best friends, Joe and Bev. ...Wayne Newton.".. how can that ever be topped !

I saw "Wayne Newton's show" at a smaller venue at Lake Tahoe in 1986, for $15.00 a person, including one drink! Newton even remarked, "For this price, I don't want to hear any complaints!" The show was great & lasted over an hour! He's a multi-talented performer & deserves to be in the top echelon of entertainers!

One of the best voices ever, he had so much talent, and I’m not surprised that Bobby Darin encouraged him, he was a great singer himself. There has been marvellous singers in my lifetime, unfortunately as I live in Great Britain we unfortunately didn’t hear much of him, I’m so glad my DNA is Italian as we have music in our souls ,

I’ve always heard of WN since the 80’s and never made it my business to find out why he was so famous and loved until I recently started watching “The Lucy Show”. He was a young WN who made and appearance in her show and sang “Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody”, “Danke Schoën” and You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You". Instantly feel in love with those songs. He was a talent then and now.

Wayne is a one of a kind guy, kind , easily accessible to his fans and just an all around good guy. I remember a fan club picnic we had in Las Vegas and here he comes and just mingled. He was running around shooting people with a water pistol. Kind of shocking for a big star! That’s Wayne..

Wayne Newton, at one time, practically "owned" Las Vegas. In fact, he was actually crowned "Mr. Las Vegas"...one of the last TRUE Vegas entertainers...still remember being a kid and watching his many appearances on Saturday nights on The Jackie Gleason Show. Jackie Gleason was long credited for "discovering" him. His longevity in the business is a testament to his immense talent and perserverence.

So glad you are a great fan and you are enjoying my videos. Was that a typo on the number of shows? Did you mean 8 shows? It certainly can't be 8,000 shows because if we take, let's say 30 years, that would be 10,950 days in 30 years divided into 8,000 - would mean that you almost saw a show once a day.
@justme67673 жыл бұрын

PS: HIS ACCOUNT OF THE SAD CRUEL CONSTANT JOKES ABOUT HIM FROM THE LATE MR. JOHNNY CARSON IS A TRUE STORY & SADLY COULD HAVE ENDED MUCH UGLIER IN LIGHT OF THE FACT THAT JOHNNY CARSON PASSED AWAY IN 2005 FROM EMPHYSEMA, I GUESS HE WAS RIGHT TO CONFRONT HIM & STATE THAT THE JOKES BETTER STOP IMMEDIATLY. W/SOME PEOPLE YOU HAVE TO DRAW THE LINE SOMEWHERE & MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND WHEN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD, BUT SADLY SOMETIMES IS NECESSARY. FRANKLY THE LATE MR. CARSON SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER. OH WELL,
