The voice you did for Grover was close to what he sounded like. Gravely with a falsetto mixed in. And I believe the segment you were remembering was Grover teaching NEAR and FAR. Grover would be close and say to the camera "NEAR!" then he'd run way way in the distance and then yell out "FAAAAAAARRRR!" Then run all the way back close to the camera and again say "NEAR!" and then run away again in the distance and yell out "FAAAAAARRRR!" And he does this a couple of times and then finally collapses from exhaustion. LOL classic Sesame Street.
