A pair of wool or polypro glove liners to wear inside the leather gloves can be a huge help as well. It's also good to treat leather gloves with tallow or oil to make them moisture resistant.

As long as youve sized them properly, yes. I didnt😢. Warm as long as im moving but the leather compresses my OR (polypro) gloves in spots, so it doesnt retain heat well.

Your show is a breath of fresh air. With all the craziness, going on. I appreciate your impartiality and neutrality. It is INVITING, POLITE, CIVILIZED. Agenda free but 100% American spirit. 🇺🇸 As a former theatre person, I love the dress up aspect of it. It adds authenticity. It shows creativity. Gives it extra. I'm not very into the SUPER-TACTICAL-ULTRA-MODERN-GUN-MACHO stuff. Lol. I'm exaggerating, but you get what I mean. That seems a bit too THEATRICAL, IMO. So I appreciate that your show focuses on INGINUITY, MINIMALISM, CLEVERNESS, SKILL. Very important, very handy knowledge, vital skills. I also have much respect for genuine hobos. They are a rare breed. Timeless, american. Thank you, cool show, waypoint.

up my way (minnesota) my ice fishing gear fits the bill for boots an pants even jacket. also switch the gloves for mittens. my boots only go on when the temp is below zero F. artic mucks good to -40F recommended only wear when below 0f. other wise a regular pair of mucks will do. have insulate & neoprene in the materials. put some of the fire kit in your edc items on your self. an don't count on snow for water making. have only had 9.9 inches this season. short by 3 ft. today i have a brown yard. but i have had temps down around -30F with wind chills pushing that temp too -50F. best thing is change the list to be packed for each season as it shows up. my vehicle kit includes road flares, marine flares (for boat) & added this year those fire starter blocks. blackie thomas did a review in early fall on them. you might consider a zipper pull type compass / whistle combo.

I was issued the Goretex pants, parka and the insulating "Bearsuit", in the 90s. I still use that same system today. Use the black VB boots or the old Airforce issue Muk luks. With polypropylene long johns and a wool shirt, it's a good system and/or mix of systems. Was -20 last week and I was just fine. Carry a ferro rod and 550 cord in shoulder pocket of parka with gloves, hat and poly neck gaiter in pockets. My edc pack carries everything else including a puffy jacket, metal H2O bottle, fixie, etc. The most important thing people should do is use your gear. Sleep out in the backyard when it's 0 degrees. You'll learn alot about your gear and yourself. I don't recommend -60 or colder. BRRRRrrrrŕ!!!

Only thought is the white lighter. A quick wrap with colorful tape in winter is a good idea, isn't it? And maybe put some redundancy in other pockets and pouches. Learned from my grandfather to keep matches in the pack, in the pants, and in the jacket- now a days, a bic is an alternative, but...
@WayPointSurvivalКүн бұрын
I always carry extra things in my pocket for starting fires. The reason the Bic lighter is white is because I took off the wrapper so that you can easily see the amount of fuel inside.

Well, it was worth watching your video again, that's for sure! You know, because at least that "hooded tarp" or whatever I call it, I'm really interested in it... Great idea... You're definitely the best outdoor influencer! I only missed one thing, but it's a BIG one: the link to this hooded thing, or if you can't give a direct link to it, then if I may ask, be so infinitely kind and write down the exact brand of the thing you have so I know what to look for... Unless it's a Chinese product. Because I don't care about that and I won't buy it, no matter how good it looks, how cheap it is, and how many positive reviews there are about it! It would be best of course if it was "made in the USA", but if there isn't one, I admit that I'm even more willing to buy a Russian product (although I'm clearly rooting for Ukraine!) than a Chinese product! So if you could give me the brand of the thing, I'd be very happy about it.

Poncho's are almost useless compared to other options. If you are sitting round a camp fire while it's raining, you're golden. Beyond that they are a compromise across all facets. Those pants he has here also come with a jacket and would keep you dryer while being more mobile than in a poncho. You can get military tarps that fold into a smaller space than that poncho too.
