Something worth mentioning is that the stronger your abdominal, gluteal, chest, and back muscles, the easier and more comfortable good posture is. If these muscles are not strong, holding yourself straight can feel brutally uncomfortable and tense, as well as cause even more muscle tension. Weight training is mandatory for physical and mental health AND poise. "Swayback," or "anterior pelvic tilt" (recognized as an exaggerated sticking-out of the butt) is common among black women and can easily be remedied with the right exercise and sometimes chiropractic treatment.
