Hey thanks for the demo the other day at Wendy’s! Something that really stood out to me was your beautiful speaker pods in the kick and A pillars . Made me realize I really need to step my game up 🤣🤙

Great video! Keep it up! One thing I would clarify is that coaxials are not inherently time aligned. In fact, most aren’t. You would want a concentric coaxial like Andrew Jones likes to use or like the new SB Acoustic coaxials. Those are time aligned.

o i know, point source is where its at, but a coax is far closer in alignment than a component set. theyre easier to get in a tight spot together, and usually less expense too.

This makes me think of these components I had installed by a stereo shop. The drivers were supposed to be high end by Hertz brand. The tweeters were put in dash by the A pillars refecting off windshield (Kia soul) I didn't like them, too harsh so I disconnected the wires and put in Polk mm652 door speakers. The polks are good, and play down to 55hz easily, the doors have been sound deadened to create somewhat of a speaker box. Since you said not all tweeters react the same with sound reflection, I'm thinking I should pull out the tweeters, they may be good in a home stereo set-up ❗

yea they might! be creative, sound it hella fun to play with!

I just bought 2012 scion tc, the stock stereo sounds pretty dang good it has 3 way components on front doors from factory, I wanna replace headunit to the maxspeedingrods touch screen but worried the ohm load on stock speakers may be too high to get enough power
@CarAudioEnthusiasts3 ай бұрын
most factory speakers are 3-4 ohms so your power should be fine. in the long term though youll want to replace those drivers, and you prolly want to upgrade, or Add a subwoofer as well.

Always look for high efficiency mid-range drivers for the doors we're talking about a suburban and high efficiency tweeters for the front All run off the bose factory amp which gives each channel approximately 30 watts 94 DB sensitive for four door speakers 104 sensitivity super tweeters in the rear 101 sensitivity tweeters in the front silk in the front titanium super tweeters in the back and then of course subwoofers 4 8-in DC audio m38s LC2I pro line out converter scar RP 200o.1D amplifier wired to 2ohm simple very loud for the power and clean whether it's rap music country or rock very satisfied at The head unit mid-range is all the way up tweeters are all the way up bass is at zero PRV tweeters timpano 6 and 1/2 mid-range drivers

I have 4 8s and 4 tweets. Mids are in kicks and doors with one set tweets in dash firing up and then one set essentially in between the mids .

I have been going between 3.5" infinity coaxial and mounting them in a custom speaker pod setup and a CT sounds 3 way component set with the tweet and 3.5 mid in pods and the 6.5 in the kick panels. I'm now leaning towards the 3.5 infinity coaxial on the a pillar and the 6.5 in the kick panel and run it fully active. What say you?

'S' seems to always be a tough one trying to tune
@mdutchy25823 ай бұрын
I feel like I've got tweeters locked in. Music is a difficult thing though, none of us have ever been in the studio with the musician to compare it to the sound we trying to achieve and I have personally never used equipment to tune as I felt like I wasnt going be the same again, like I would disagree with it anyway and hobby over. My failures even after so many years of listening and trying setups is mid bass. Probably one of your up and coming lessons but most systems I hear from others are dominant treble and bass slight high midrange but I've never once heard one that i felt like thats the midbass right there. Never achieved it myself either. Oh yeah, forgot to ask have you ever got there? Have you installed or heard a vehicle that you felt, okay this is it?
@CarAudioEnthusiasts3 ай бұрын
actually I have been in the studio quite a few times, mixing monitors are always eye level, about 8 feet apart-ish. the engineer then tunes based on what he/she hears. so if you reproduce what they hear from, you SHOULD hear what THEY heard when mixing. there's a bit of a thought experiment for you!

Hello, which frequenzies are you recommend for Tweeters 0,75-1", Midrange 4", Bass Midrange 5,25"-6,5" +Coax & 8-12" Sub? Buying Coax to split them in compo is worth or should buy a compo set? I got a mk2 golf. On the dash are 3,5" , doors are 5,25" and in the back on the side from hat rack are 6x9". What would you recommend? Thanks

All these things depend on the car, the speakers, the locations in the car, any mods to the locations, and your taste. And BTW that car is FUN to do. Call Carmil car audio, ask for Joe. He did a sweet SQ build in one recently.
