The defense is able to push Caitlin far outside the 3 point circle for 2 reasons 1. Caitlin has no other weapon so defenses can play her close and, 2. women's basketball is slow which minimizes the benefits of passing and ball handling for smaller players.

Also I didn’t think most people knew who CC was until the Angel Reese situation in college. That sole viral moment in my opinion was what catapulted CC and Reese into household name territory. Honestly they could have promoted Reese or other female players and they would have had the CC effect.
