33:35 these are hand crafted stone lanterns! They come in many different sizes and shapes. The tradition of making these goes back over 800 years I believe. They are found all around old towns, but are the most common on sacred places such as Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. Each lantern is made from several different stone pieces and then put together to form the lantern. Near the top there is a small “house” for a light to be out in. Tho many lanterns are also only used as statues and very rarely lit up

This is the Minecraft that should be getting millions of views. Not all that mumbo jumbo on other channels. Appreciating beauty and creativity should not be a niche thing.

It's very nice to see some current Polish cities that were German during the period in which the server takes place. Zoppot is today Sopot, neighboring Danzig is Gdańsk. They are part of Tricity ("Trójmiasto" - a triple city), the third was Gdynia, in German Gdingen, which was then a small village. Gdynia became a huge city and a major Polish port in the 1920s. I remember that there is another German-Polish city on the server - Breslau (now Wrocław).

Absolutely loving Yazd there, hope to see more of it in the future also, just in case anyone is stumbling through the comments, I do wanna share some history because the Achaemenid Persian Empire is honestly really cool and they didn't really touch on that part of it (or pronounce it properly- you can just call it the First Persian Empire, that works too) It was founded in 550 BCE by Cyrus II/Cyrus the Great, and it came to encompass the territories of Media, Babylonia, Anatolia, Lydia, and held lands as far east as the Indus river under him, all these lands he conquered in less than 20 years. Persia would eventually conquer Egypt and Cyprus under Cambyses II after Cyrus died in ~530. Achaemenid Persia, so far as I know, was the largest land empire in to that point in history. It was breaking new ground not only in terms of its sheer scale, but in terms of tolerance and diversity, Cyrus was REAL big on Clemency, sparing Croesus of Lydia, Nabonidus of Babylonia, and Astyages of Media, basically all of the kings of his conquered territories were spared, and allowed even to retain their positions, as vassals of course. Cyrus is also famous for his repatriation program, on conquering Babylon, he helped the Jewish People held captive there since the Babylonians sacked Jerusalem in 587 return to Isreal, and had the second temple built. The Achaemenid Empire might've been the most vibrant, egalitarian, multicultural melting pot in the entire ancient world. All things are doomed eventually to fall though, and the Achaemenid empire was toppled by Alexander the Great in 330 BCE, supposedly as revenge for the wars fought between the Greeks and Persians, but the man was absolutely bloodthirsty. Not long after this, he'd get drunk and die in Babylon, and his general Seleucus would claim most of the former Achaemenid Persian Empire, establishing the Seleucid Persian Empire. After that would be the Parthians, then the Sassanid Persian empire (technically the third persian empire, but wikipedia and most scholars call it the second, whatever-) which would be the last Persian Empire because after that, the Muslim Conquests began and they got replaced by the Rashidun Caliphate, then the Umayyad, then the Abbasid, and finally the Ottomans. As for Yazd itself, again so far as I know- its former names are Kath and Issatis, with the latter's first attestation during the Parthian Empire in Pliny the Elder's Natural History, and it's a Unesco world heritage site thanks in part to this great antiquity and the survivals from this period. The Windcatchers seen in this video are part of an ingenious system of natural climate control, used in conjuction with Qanats to keep the interiors of buildings cooler than they otherwise would be at 0 cost. Yazd also has a number of Ab Anbars; a type of water cistern, and Yakhchals, which are able to make ice in the high desert! I've always been fascinated by the ways people adapt to their surroundings, especially in harsh environments like Mexico, Arabia, Guatemala and the Sahara. Also the orange building at 15:00 is the Al-Khazneh or "treasury building" of Petra, in Jordan. It was built by the Nabataean peoples in the first century CE. It's not a treasury, by the way- it's the face of a Mausoleum. There's another smaller Nabataean style rock-cut tomb next to it, I think that one's from Hegra, can't quite tell. I really hope someone eventually builds Petra on this server, that'd be incredible. I have nowhere else to dump this information, that's the only reason it's here-

It's stuff like this that makes me wanna build more. I absolutely adore architecture and using minecraft as a means to express this is just fantastic. The things people come up with to overcome different challenges and or get completely unique shapes that would never be possible otherwise are nothing short of amazing. Great work as always for everyone involved. Cheers ❤

Can you make a tutorial about how to use levers for details
@AkiraBuilds
@AkiraBuilds 11 ай бұрын
You need world edit for a lot of it. Then you can use the //replace command or the /repl tool to replace a block with a lever. You also need to do //perf update off //perf neighbors off. This will make sure that the lever doesn’t get destroyed instantly. Tho You still need to be careful not placing other blocks next to the levers if the levers are placed on debugged blocks or in the air
