Feb 20, 1987 was a Friday and I was 15 so I'm sure I watched this episode. I don't remember a lot of commercials during the movies. It didn't seem like 30 minutes of commercials but when you started seeing more commercials than you saw Fritz you knew he was about to sign off and the anthem was coming up, but I still waited for the sign off. I would always watch the anthem film. You know, back when TV stations shut off for the night. Fritz was the best! In the 80's in west central Ohio he was THE late night movie host. Thank you Fritz, it was a lot of fun.

The calm and carefree days. I was 8 and I remember all of these commercials. Where did time go?

And to think I was only a week and a half old back then.

Actually, it's a Sign-ON where WBNS was going into CBS News Nightwatch (Now CBS Overnight News) already in progress.

Love the collection! Do you have an old Parkside Clinic commercial (circa '88 or '89) shot from the perspective of a train going through a tunnel?

do you have any other station sign off for Columbus? I recall one channel sign off was flying over OSU? I would love to see that. thanks

18:26 that ad is very sad, I just hope the woman who was crying in the ad is better now 😢

The woman crying in the ad was more than likely a professional actress this organization used for their commercial. Sadly, however, millions of women out there aren't as lucky. And I echo your sentiments wholeheartedly.

God I miss Fritz, my childhood weekend stay up late show. Delivery pizza and fritz for doing good in school all week. Which was my reward.

I wish I could love this comment. I think that's one of the greatest things in life. Staying up late with a horror show and pizza. I'm a night owl and I am fascinated with old school stuff like that.

I remember in 85 being in preschool asking to stay up to watch this man when I would come to Columbus. These old Nite Owl theater clips are are great, I am glad BK preserved them.
