IUPAC Name for Acetic acid (CH3COOH or HC2H3O2)

According to Wikipedia the preferred IUPAC name is Acetic acid, which I didn't know. The systematic name is Ethanoic acid, which I like more since it provides a better description of the molecular structure.

@@wbreslyn I thought iupac would use systematic name than commonly used name, but reality is acetic acid

@@Suzuchikuma Me too. I suppose that it's such an old name and is engrained in the literature that it is sort of an exception.
