@@knut-hinrichqwalter2463 Hast Recht, 9 Jahre nach dem Krieg war das leider noch so, allerdings singt heute auch kaum einer die 3. Strophe die vielen Ausländer denken beim Abspielen eben an ihr Heimatland.

A nation and its people, forced by he actions of a few fanatics to look at its very concience, was able as of this day to hold its head high again. A great final, ironically the last final that would be seen by Rimet himself. A pity it was the masterful Hungarians that had to be the beaten team, but it takes two teams to make a great final, and Puskas and his team mates certainly payed their part.

Ich denke , die Spieler haben in dem Moment garnicht so richtig begriffen was diese WM für eine Bedeutung hatte . Ich bin mir sicher es war für unglaublich viele Menschen in Deutschland ein Ansporn .
