I am new to WC3 and have been watching these pro replays while not understanding much of it. I watched grubby's solo hero challenges and he manages to win with most of them. Doesn't this mean that heroes are way too powerful even without a supporting army? And if heroes gaining levels and items are so important, doesn't this mean Night Elf with their moonwells and treants offer way too much support for their heroes in creeping are totally OP compared to other races?

Hi. I think knights can kill low level heroes without using its powers. You would think moon wells are OP but in the current state of the game, NE are not doing as well as all the other races.

While Grubby is a great player, he is only able to beat players of lower skill than him when he goes hero only. The vast majority of players online are not at Grubby's skill level , so that's why he's won most of those challenges you've seen. I have seen him lose some of these challenge games too. Going hero only is not a legitimate strat if you're playing seriously, and it is not viable on the pro scene. It also just does not work against someone of equal skill because it is way better to have an army plus your heroes. If you do go hero only, NE is the best race because of the moonwells. But all of the races have ways to heal their units.
