I remember Art Athens when first started at 1000 watt daytime WRKL in downtown metropolitan Mount Ivy NY!

Art Athens can be one of the few to claim to have worked at two different radio stations that, at one time or another, bore the calls WABC. He was at the ABC-owned 77 station on May 10, 1982, where he hosted the first program as "Talkradio 77" hosting Ron Lundy and Dan Ingram. WCBS, of course, had been known as WABC before 1946. Another was Gil Gross.

Straight real vanilla. Presenting the story like the journalist just heard of it. Only local news comes close to broadcasting the days events like that.
