That's very smart idea! I like it! All buses operator will protect them. To keep away from bad guys. To keep it out of the buses.

I've lived in Minneapolis for 22 years and I've taken the city bus for many years. I don't drive because I have disabilities. I could tell people stories that would make their heads spin. Taking the city bus is like a death sentence. I don't feel safe at all because I've dealt with street people and unruly kids accustoming me, drunk people, violent fights, the smell of urine, feces and garbage at these bus shelters and inside the buses and trains. I feel a lot safer taking Metro Mobility which is a transportation service for people with disabilities and seniors.

Well worth the cost, if the barrier lives up to expectations & keeps the drivers safe.

The passengers want to beat the bus driver's up.

Unless the barriers extend all the way to the windshield the barriers are USELESS. We have that halfway door crap here in NYC and the people that want to get at the driver just climb up on the dashboard

But if you make it a full partition, consider that in case of an emergency, if for some reason the door can't be opened and the window is blocked, the driver may not be able to evacuate the bus. Want to be trapped in a bus on fire or rolled over or crashed in a river?

Well then quit! Look at what happened in Tampa yesterday, the driver got stabbed to death still wearing his seatbelt.

MainManJC Stacy has a point. If it's that unsafe to drive the public, you aren't safe no matter what. So it almost seems like why do such an unsafe job that is so unsafe that you need a partition that gives a false sense of security? With a half partition, the bad guy can come at you with a gun. If it's made a full partition, consider that in case of an emergency, if for some reason the door can't be opened and the window is blocked, the driver may not be able to evacuate the bus. Want to be trapped in a bus that rolled over, or worse is on fire or crashed in a river?
