Several investors at the time thompson was developing the equipment needed to recover artifacts and the gold,Were getting dodgy over who was going to eat the expedition costs. The investors wanted thompson to incur the entire cost of the whole event...while simultaneously reducing thompsons eventual cut...thompson and investors all agreed to split the expenses of operation and the remaining profits would be split...the investors wanted their cuts off the top first...before anyone knew what the final tally would be...Thompson rightfully balked at that and refused...so here they are decades later...everyone got paid...Thompson only got paid because he held back some of coins and gold...a fraction of the total haul...but greedy greasy slimeballs want the whole pie

He should have went to a private individual and struck a deal . These investors sound like bankers who have deep pockets and hold a powerful position . The shipwreck had another salvage crew 9 years ago reinvested with better equipment and with an estimated 1 billion left on the floor a mile down they will need that time . My gut says Tommy got his first haul in , had plenty of his own money , pulled up a lifestime worth of money , then decide to dip .
