I thought Billy Warlock did a fine job. I love Sean Kanan and true there's no resemblance, but there is zero resemblance between model-like Tamara Braun and Laura Wright. Each brings their own style to the role. Billy was great; he's adorable looking (never watched Baywatch but I've seen clips; great body). He's a fine actor and displayed anger, hurt, etc. Nothing "funny" about his portrayal but this scene on the hook, gotta admit, had me laughin' out loud. In "AJ's" defense, I think anyone hanging from a hook with his suit jacket pulled up to his neck like that and him swinging around would be just as funny. 😆

I really forgot what the old Sonny was like, and now that I have seen this k really wish the show could be like this more, it was the fact that Sonny was a mob boss that got me into General Hospital in the first place. There was more mob related storylines and Jason was the enforcer and I think a better character. He wasn't all mushy as he is now and I thought that as a result of his brain damage he wasn't really able to be like that. Steve Burton even said he wished Jason could go back to standing there and scaring people.

Thank you for showing this. I've recently got I to the show and your channel has filled in a lot of blanks in the history of sonny. This lil story in particular was one I was most curious about since it's mentioned a lot. I'll say sonny had a more quiet presence now but watching these clips explains why they don't need to show him establishing dominance. I won't say it was a great choice, extorting aj like this but it's a snake dealing with a rat.

AJ was not meant to be a father at all he treated Michael like a possession that he owned. He kidnapped Michael, Morgan and Kristina and made Michael think his parents hated him and didn't want him and than faked his death that is horrible, doesn't matter why or how AJ signed over his rights he did and he didn't even fight for him, brain washed Michael that Sonny didn't love him, he was cruel. Besides being an out of control drunk he did plenty of illegal actions too, chief among them kidnapping children, stalking, blackmail, murder, abuse, etc. I mean it seems like everyone forgets how A.J. acted towards Courtney. When they were married or that he had Jason shot when he kidnapped not only Michael but Christina and Morgan. He faked Michael's death and then best part put him under the care of evil Dr. Thomas who he paid to brainwash him into hating Carly, Sonny, and Jason. Say what you want about Carly and Sonny but neither ever used kids to get even or what they wanted.

He was simply making sure they couldn't take her baby and so was she. Back then Carly didn't have a bunch of money like she does now and the Quartermanes ran Port Charles, and they all knew Edward would use all his power to take Michael and kick Carly out of his life.

When the show did stuff like this to AJ, TPTB knew that fans would get angry and instead of giving AJ a chance to win, they instead decide to villianize and bury him to give CarSaSon more victories that they don’t deserve. For this scene in particular, they spent all of 2002-2005 ruining AJ more than ever before to prop CarSaSon.

I hate to say this on the surface and below the layers Sonny's life is dangerous. He lives a life full of danger and most of the time I wish he was not right. However that being said AJ brought a lot of grief on himself. Instead of trying to fix his life and appear the stable parent. He prioritizes revenge over doing what was best for Michael. Jason and Sonny are not clean people but they have proved time and time again they will lay down their lives for Michael. Both of them were even willing to go to jail for him. AJ signed over Michael the first chance he knew he was guilty of a crime. He always loved himself more than his kid. However in my opinion that was not his fault. Because the Quartermaines never knew how to love in a way that showed anyone of their kids they could come to them without being kicked down. Monica and Lila was the closest but even the former had favorites.

Carly wanted Jason in the beginning and didn't even know she slept with Jason's brother. Jason never slept with her again after that until it was too late to make babies with her.
