So I have a ps4 and a Xbox series s and if I get this hdd do I have to formated every time with each console and other question do I lose my stuff like if a download PlayStation game im going to lose my stuff if I plugging in a Xbox or is going to have both without problem

I bought this drive for PC gaming and I use Steam. But for some reason when start up a game on it my PS5 controller doest work with it is there anything im supposed to do to get it to work? I already formated the drive.

Do the read speeds make any difference during game play as I’m not too bothered about load times?

If the game you’re playing is on the drive it can affect load times. Write speed would regard how quickly data transfers

PS4 games can play directly off of the drive. PS5 games cannot. You'd need to transfer the game to your internal drive.

So this is basically just a external drive? I guess it wouldn’t work as an internal drive therefore, I would still be transfer games back and forth just to play it 😢

You can play Xbox one games or older

This is not an SSD. you can play ps4 games directly off it on a ps5 but to play ps5 games they’d have to be transferred to the internal SSD or expansion drive

You have to go into storage and change the download path first

You will have to go into the a device manager that shows your drives and just reformat the drive I have had it connected to a series s but then switched it to a desktop

It's "slower" b/c it's not an SSD. Perfectly fine foe running PS4 games and preserve the internal drive on PS5 for PS5 games only.
