May I recommend, if in a video you mention another video (such as you do in this one), that you link that video in your description and also add it as an element at the end of you video. That way they can just click on it and go straight to that video as opposed to hunting for it on your channel.

Fantastic explanation. Thank you I have two questions .exfat I can use for both windows and mac for erase, for that journal is not needed? . Journal only for making time machine?
@TechandDesign3 жыл бұрын
exfat is for both Mac and pc . journaled is for Mac only. so if you format journaled - a pc won’t be able to read it. time machine works best with journaled , but it also works with exfat

Hi. I have followed your excellent video but I have struck a problem. At the 3min 50sec mark you have erased the WD Elements drive and on your system it still shows in the sidebar. However, on my system which is running OS Catalina it is no longer showing. I have tried closing and re-opening Disk Utility but it still doesn't show and I have checked in Finder but WD Elements no longer shows. Any suggestions please?

I just purchased a 5TB WD External HD for my older iMac27. I am trying to format this drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) like my other external HDs that I use but I am constantly getting an error that says it can't unmount. I tried the erase and selected Mac OS Extended (Journaled). It appears that it comes pre-formated for NTFS. It will not change. What am I doing wrong?
