Thanks for this, but slow down on the run through buddy. We look at these video's to obtain information and get an understanding. It was just a rushed run through no real information actually imparted

I am a fan after this video. I loved your perspective about the functionality of this NAS being truly 8 gb
@Stormprobe7 жыл бұрын
Set it to RAID 0 and you'll have 16TB. Good luck when a drive fails. RAID 1 is only a level of redundancy and is not a backup.
@iaincowell97475 жыл бұрын
Should always have a back up of your files anyway. Yes drivers will eventually fail, but if you are not using crap drivers and have a backup you shouldn't worry about that too much

hi, you might have answered this before but here it goes. I have 10TB of information housed on a WD my book. if I buy this system, how will I transfer 10tb of information into the PR2100, if it is over the internet it would take forever, no? Can I connect through USB the 14TB drive into the NAS?

Great review, but the question I have is do you need to use PLEX to watch your video contention your home network? I have a "MyCloudMirror" Gen2 now and it works great WITHOUT PLEX, but a little slow & filled up now, so i am considering what you reviewed, a 16tb PR2100, but i don't want to use any add-on apps, just play and watch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the video. You pretty much described it well. I want to bring it to your attention because I had this issue is that Western digital red Enterprise drives do not work from what Western digital says? They are working fine in my drive I had my problems at the beginning but I got through them. When I purchase mine they considered this a Enterprise Nas. I asked them why won't an Enterprise drive work in an Enterprise Nas? I wish you would talk more about the company in about their warranties and tech support because in my opinion WD is near the worst on both accounts. I've been dealing and doing this type of work for a long time so I'm not so bad off I feel really bad for the home consumer getting one of these or any Nas for that matter for the first time and trying to figure out what shares are and how they're different than accounts so forth and so on it gets a bit confusing and for this lower end device it shouldn't have to be that hard or they shouldn't expect you laymen to know it's definitely not Windows. Thanks again cheers!

TechteamGB, I have a PR2100 (4TB+4TB) and am enjoying it. I am thinking of buying a My Cloud (4TB) and placing it at work and keep connected to internet. This my Cloud will be a copy of PR2100. So in case of a disaster, I am covered. Is this frame work possible? If yes, do you have any idea how to configure this?
@TechteamGB8 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don't have this any more, so can't check to see but you should be able to connect them both to the internet and have one of them Rsync or similar from the other.

Thank you for your reply. I will keep checking for the solution by trial and errors.

Hey, Im a wedding photographer and videographer. I put all my footage on my desktop and certain projects on my laptop for my wife to work on. Im looking for a system that allows me to back up my footage and also allows my wife to work on footage from my desktop without me having to transfer it to her laptop. Would this be the best system? if not would would you recommend me looking at?
@TechteamGB8 жыл бұрын
I personally prefer QNAP NAS systems a bit better, they are very easy to use and offer a lot of features like the ability to run a wordpress blog right on the NAS. You can buy them on Amazon with drives installed I believe!
@AOJOPhotography8 жыл бұрын
TechteamGB I didnt see to many with drives, what drives would you suggest?
@TechteamGB8 жыл бұрын
WD Red or Seagate Archive drives are great. Larger the better - you'll want two of the exact same drives though to run in RAID 1 so if one drive were to fail, the other would have a full copy of your data. I recommend this one personally: amzn.to/2j0aXzu and something like two of these drives: amzn.to/2j05wRf although of course you can get smaller capacity versions for less money.

Hello there nice to hear and see the video, I would like to ask you something, I would like to have my own web server with my websites in it and also at the sametime have my own private cloud at home or any where in the world how and what do i need to buy under a budget since i am starting with this. once again regards for all the videos you share, do pm me if you can tell me something about this

The product is filled with errors. If you use the NAS to deliver files to customers via a generated direct link (without forcing your customers to register and login at mycloud.com), the webpage that PR2100 generates are literary unacceptably primitive on desktop browsers. There are no back buttons fx. to step back when you navigate the share webpage. Strangely this works fine when openning the same link on a smartphone... If you store your older Mac files on this NAS, you won't be able to delete some of the folders or files because some of he files when accessing a share containing these files from a desktop will contain information that PR2100 can't handle. If you use custom icons (Mac) for some of your folder on the NAS: those folder will be inaccessible from the smartphone app. You will get the message: No internet connection when trying...
@iaincowell97475 жыл бұрын
Sounds more like Mac problems than the NAS. Mac's are crap anyway

you have sot on! While I was trying to consider is 20TB, the first thing I wanted to understand whether this is 20TB each! It seems NOT! And you have rightly said that this is not only misleading but also for 10TB usable HDD, I am going to pay £1000! oops! So much money for Redundancy? I really enjoyed this and really helpful in my buying decision.... Thanks! Good job
