La rencontre de deux virtuoses du Oud ! C'est l'esprit de notre temps. À la fois authenticité mais aussi projection vers un monde nouveau. L'Oud est à l'image de nos propres personnes.

Thank you so much for your music, a balm to the spirit, especially during this time.

Awesome. Strange contrasts, however: Simon "Never Enough Notes, always room for 1000 more," trades taqsims with Anouar "Mr Soul Sounds," and they romp together in the same playground.

Kweli Nzito hello friend, this took place in early 90s at Washington Square church in Greenwich village in Manhattan. Many producers attempted to have Simon collaborate with other oudists ,Simon only agreed to do it with Anwar Abraham . The material demonstrated in this duet is so rich that I cannot stop going over it & listening after all those years . Mr Abraham tried to draw Simon into more avant-garde dialogue but Simon kept it Sharqi .

@@najibsouds - I don’t know how I missed your post after so long. Thanks for providing the background to this priceless dialogue. Yet when I insist that the disciple surpasses the idol, I get assaulted by accusations of ignorance. I claim no expertise but I trust my ears and my musical sensibilities. Genius and virtuosity speak for themselves. One cannot have enough of this goodness!

@@Kwelinzito I do pay attention to the “ culture” of comments, all musics , and I am fascinated by the level of stupidity & musical cluelessness by most commentators, let alone the cheap use of words like genius legend &&&&.. I will soon have my channel targeting the use of KZbin as a venue for the glorious rise of mediocrity & ignorance, god bless democracy.
