RV doesn't get the credit he deserves. He won 4 straight chips against arguably the best competition in SX history.
@inspectorluv2 жыл бұрын
very true - he was clearly one of the top 3 to every get on a bike, had he not quit after 4 straight dominating seasons I am sure he would have won 5 and maybe even 6 in a row. He was a clean rider too, didnt need to be dirty to win like most of the others.

Imo, RV was the best to ever race on the edge. That dude pushed and pushed hard... but didn't have too many bad get offs. Had he not burned out.... you can hand all of Dungeys titles over to RV.... which puts him in the convo as best ever.
@ericg30652 жыл бұрын
@@japslapr That was the difference between him and Stewart. Stew had the most raw speed and dynamic riding style but RV had the speed to ride on the edge and win consistently. Had he not retired early he could've easily ended up with 5 or 6 championships.

@@ericg3065 I don't necessarily disagree... but I think it's worth pointing out that Stew still gets the nod in raw speed, especially in sx. When JS7 was "on"... there is nothing anybody in the world could have done to beat him on a sx track.

@@YFZriderdude15 I agree to a point but you cant leave out the rider with the most SX races in History? Mc was 10 years older then Rc when they faced up, but still it took 3 years for RC to figure out how to beat MC consistantly. RC was a endurance and strength monster, not quite human and his hunger was 2nd to none but nobody has ever matched MC's precision and style indoors. 2 Seperate ways of racing, but insane levels of grit and precision. I see them all as a bit different, and what one was great at, the other had something different he was great at. All amazing riders either way.

Villopoto was mind boggling in rough outdoor Nats but seeing this video shows me that I had forgotten his ridiculous skills indoors. I didn't realize just how good he was in SX. Appreciate the video. Man, Stewart had some extremely tough battles and although he didn't win every single one, I don't know if any rider has ever had that many people that close for as many laps fighting every step of the way. Leading is considered easier because of the roost and lines but it is the difference between giants and normal racers. Leading that many laps while fighting for many of them is something only very few can do without crashing from that pressure. MC was one, James was another, and I would include RC but once he broke free of the pack, he left the field mostly. Amazing racing in this summary of vids! Im just glad I was around to see it when it happened. Man that was an epic time. I think it's all about having 5+ guys fully coimmitted to wining trhough several seasons.
