I remember everytime I used to travel by train from bangalore to mangalore I still remember looking at the diesel engines upon exiting the train and how they used to used to have that acceleration sound. I miss my childhood and the excitement to see trains.

At my younger days, we see soiled, graving, I'll dresses, with decoloured, dress, silver haired, unpolished, illfitting uniformed, moros Railway engine piolets, with an avarage education of Xth , but the modern train piolets are all Mecanical engineers, electronic etc, even at ICF most of the staff are engineers, many young women..what a change and most of them are very happy too...I enjoyed it.

I like and love WDM 2 model Diesel Loco motive which was really 100% fit for long haul. Still i cannot forget that it use to pull Howrah mail in 60's at night after making a trip to Bangalore and back to chennai pulling Brindavan express in day time. Those days Brindavan express use to cover the distance from chennai central to Bangalore in Five hours. Now the same train is running as fast passenger train. what a pity.
