Fun fact, about bus laws where I live!! Carrying a bus meant to be full of people requires a specialized bus license. But if you remove enough seats, you don't need one anymore. We used to use a gutted old bus to haul product to anime conventions

Same here! You can take an old bus and convert it into a RV and not be required to have a CDL, but if it is equipped with a passenger load capacity of like 15 people (I think?), you do need to have a CDL and passenger endorsement. Full size bus will require a class B if being used to transport above a certain amount, but if it isn't, such as a motor home, no CDL required. Its weird.

Here you can drive a bus with truck licence but need additional qualification to carrying passangers. iirc you can drive an empty bus for transporting the vehicle itself, or convert it into something else like tour bus with limited seats or camper etc. without the qualification.

Ben, not exactly sure about england, but here there are specific license categories for vehicle types. If you have a license for the bus type, whatever tat is called, you can drive one without any issue. Britain is a signatory to the Genf and Vienna agreements as I recall, so it should be the same there.

The joke among helicopter pilots in real life is that fixed wing aircraft fly like birds, while helicopters beat the air into submission. Personally, my theory is that helicopters don't actually want to fly and it's the pilot's job to keep them from crashing into the ground at every opportunity. They're difficult to fly, they're basically a collection of complicated physical effects going on that interfere with each other and make flying them a job of having to balance out all that weird behavior.

On the topic of height of vehicles (and Sweden): I live in Sweden in a medium-sized town, and just nearby there is a pretty large road that has a bridge over it. That bridge is just low enough that big cargo trucks won't fit under it, so have to take the road that goes around and above the bridge. There are warning lights warning them to not try, big signs that say "MAX HEIGHT blablabla" and there are big jangly things that bang against the roof of the vehicle if they, despite all the warnings, get too close and have one last chance to take the turn and not go under the bridge. EVEN DESPITE THAT about every two months or so, a truck gets stuck under that bridge and the police and traffic services have to come and unstick them from jamming themselves stuck under that bridge. Truck drivers are not very smart.

Depending on the nature of the bus company, it could be very illegal to impersonate one. Like public transport and school bus drivers are government officials, so impersonating them is very very illegal. Impersonating a bus driver for a private bussing company might not necessarily be illegal but could become so if your actions in that guise negatively affect the company or if you use that guise to acquire a benefit you otherwise wouldn't have been afforded.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you do need a different licence if the vehicle is over a certain weight or size. At least over here, you do. Having more than a small nr of passengers is another licence on top of that.
