I totally agree with Jenn that if you’re feeling health anxiety, instead of searching it up constantly online, just go to the doctor or urgent care. For me, one time I had really bad stomach pain and misdiagnosed myself. When I went to urgent care, it was not what I had predicted at all! It was actually a totally different scenario that actually required emergency surgery and instead I believed it was something totally different and took medicine I didn’t need to when a simple doctors visit answered my question for me. Stressing about it only made things worse and wasted time that could’ve actually been used to save my life sooner.

Sometimes seeing a doctor and getting an answer from them is not always right. I have gone to more than 24 docs and i self diagnosed with endometriosis and was confirmed with surgery that I had to force my doctor to refer. I think it depends on what the health scare is and how well you know your body.

I completely agree, I’ve been told for years that my pain is just something I have to deal with but I knew that it wasn’t normal. It wasn’t normal to literally be incapacitated by pain every month due to periods. So now years later and after 10+ visits to the GP (including speaking to two ambulance doctors who were completely clueless), I got diagnosed with endometriosis and need surgery for. Depends on the person, but I personally think we should trust our instinct when we think something is wrong with us. Of course doctors are professionals, but they don’t feel our pain and sometimes need a little bit of pushing to really take us seriously.

Talking about breathing- I swim 6 days per week. There is nothing like a good swim to reset and calm the body and mind- the combo of intentional breathing with long exhales + physical activity is so so good to stay in a healthy place mentally.

If we are anxious about something that has not yet happened, we suffer twice: once when we worry, and again when it happens. On the flipside, what you worry about may never happen. Either way, worrying only doubles (at least) your suffering. There is a quote I love, and to which I relate hard: "My life has been full of terrible misfortunes, most of which never happened." ~ Michel de Montaigne. This makes me laugh and lighten up. Over-thinking rarely if ever serves a person. Our brain has never evolved past its original purpose to warn of potential threat, back when potential threats were imminently life-endangering. Most of us do not live dangerous daily lives (not so in may countries). It is best to accept that most of what consumes us with fear will never actually come to pass. And in the worst-case scenario that it does, then we have suffered needlessly in anticipation. Don't suffer twice.

Mortality is a big anxiety I have. I'm not religious so I think a lot about the nothingness and like you mentioned, my sons no longer having a mom :( But I then try to remember that I'm only 24, healthy, and need to appreciate the time I have with my husband and children!

Loving these videos ♡ Personally, I think that maintaining a spiritual mindset is beyond helpful. As a human, for sure I don't know everything, and in times of overthinking, I should remind myself that I don't have to. For example, my faith in God put me in ease because I have someone who will always have a better plan for me even if something went wrong or got out of control.

I love how knowledgeable you both are. I like how you share what you learn through your readings and personal experiences. It makes you more interesting to watch as well as more relatable. Besides the fact that this video made me feel like I was in my own therapy session, found it very helpful. Something I find very helpful when I'm overthinking or feeling insecure is spending some time alone to reflect about why i'm thinking about certain things. Did something happen that day? Am I comparing myself to someone? Finding the answer, reflecting on it and then giving myself a pep talk really helps/ has really helped making me feel more secure and carefree.

Wow that health one was so relatable. I've struggled with that a lot on and off for a few years. It used to be so bad I could barely focus on other things. Basically all I ever thought about was being worried I had a terminal illness when, really, all the physical things I thought I felt were literally anxiety but I couldn't know FOR SURE. That's actually when I found yoga and meditation and it seriously transformed my whole mindset around it... Going to the doctor to also definitely helped ease my mind. Of course, you also want to advocate for yourself at the doctor's if you truly believe something is physically wrong. I still overthink health stuff once in a while if a new 'symptom' comes up that freaks me out but I have tools to deal with much more efficiently now! Love the suggestions you guys gave to deal with it :)

Thank you, Ben & Jenn, for addressing these concerns that were brought up as I feel they are common ones that many of us think about. The topic of the last question always makes me feel this inevitable anxiety. A lot of it has to do with the fact that I always try to escape this thought rather than face it. I completely understand that, in favor of not feeling the anxiety, the idea of death and everything that comes with it needs to be viewed as a transformational state, a continuum. I am still on the journey of achieving that positive outlook and peace that Ben talked about. Thank you both for reminding to just...live!

I really love this series ❤️ I also wanted to add for people who feel bad because of the focus on the negative... It's completely natural to focus on the negative and on the failures. It's a survival mechanism. If you made a mistake that hurt you, you learn not to make that mistake again, that's why your brain is so firm on you remembering that moment well. It helped me to know that remembering difficult, awkward or hurtful things means that my brain is trying to take care of me and I can help it back by letting go of the pain that those moments caused me as if saying "thanks brain! I got it from here!" ❤️

I've went on the app cuz I wanted to know how much it cost too😂😂😂 It's in Canadian dollars so it'll be more pricey than in USD but for me being a student + 10% off with a KZbinr code, it was about $310 per month (1h therapy session/week + unlimited texts). I didn't go through with it cuz I'm about to submit a thesis so I don't have time to talk to a therapist even through text, but they also told me I was eligible for financial aid. Hopefully that can help! 😊
