I would modify that to say "To a committed Muslim..." or similar. Many Muslims are cultural Muslims, that adopt the customs but don't really believe. I know a Muslim, for example, who fasts for Ramadan and (I think) sends his children to a mosque, but who is an atheist. For him it's just culture, and I think many Muslims are like that. But yes, many others are as you describe, and I definitely agree with your last sentence.

Someone needs to tell them that religious political parties are not a thing in Australia. We are so multi culturally diverse that it can only cause problems. Australians are one tribe. Segregation is re-creating a familiar problem that nobody needs.
