In my experience, I've found that going to church one of the most challenging and difficult things to do in this life. But it is not impossible to do. I find encouragement from the life of Martin Luther. He too struggled with sin in his life. Yet he was able to overcome sin in his life as he understood the gospel and the triumphant power of God. For me, going to church has always been challenging. But the answer is not to give up. Rather the more challenging it gets, the more I must continue to believe the promises of God. For God will do a great work in me, if I continue. And He will grant me a deeper repentance from sin and clearer understanding of the scriptures. Jesus said to the rich young ruler, what do the scriptures say and how do you understand them? This is the most important issue in this life. Therefore, going to church is not a trivial matter. I would say even say, especially nowadays, it takes a person of true courage and character to go to church and continue going every Sunday.
