Since his surname is Karki, it means that he is from the Chhetri/Bahun caste which is considered upper caste in Nepal. These castes don't eat meat. They might eat chicken or goat but not pork. pork is mostly eaten by Rai, Limbu and Magar castes. U have to understand that Nepal has more than 120 castes and each one has their own tradition, culture and food habits.
