I worked in a body shop when I was a kid.... the estimator had the hardest job. And when they didn't want to pay what a job would cost, we ended up doing supplemental after supplemental to get them to ALMOST pay what they should. Insurance companies work hard at screwing both the customer and the body shops.

whoevers making/selling the parts is screwing the customer and the insurance companies too. over 1k for a bumper? over 1k for a headlight? is this a porsche? i wouldnt care about screwing the insurance company, but they pass that cost on to us

As an insurance agent, I’m going to watch this video with my office staff so that they can better understand what happens after we help customers-turn in Claims. Recently, I purchased a lightly damaged late model camper through Copart (that are Insured owned) paying all the fees to a licensed rebuilder body shop in Illinois. It was to better understand that process and the time it takes to get through, AFTER our Insured has been paid a total loss.

My 05 Silverado only cost me $7000.... both headlights and turns cost me less than $100 when I hit a deer, for the $9000 this truck is costing I could replace all my lights, new grille and have a lot left over. I'll stick with the old stuff as well.
