Sad that I didn't realize that Madonna did not introduce vouging to the world nor did she invent it. The vouging scene was introduced to the world by black (men of colour) in a documentary called 'Paris Is Burning' and the vouging scene pre-dates that documentary by a lot of years. These men don't ever get credit for a culture that they started; Madonna capitalizes on it and never pays homage to them in the song 'Vouge' but she never fails to celebrate and mention a slew of all white actors/actresses and models.

PazazzEmperor I’m glad you became educated on the history of voguing and the ballroom scene. It’s true that a lot of young people are not aware of its originations and don’t even realize a lot of this culture and lingo is borrowed from the black/Latino gay/trans community. While Madonna failed to acknowledge its roots, I am at least glad to see that she used her platform as an icon to introduce this to the mainstream and publicly fought for the LGBT community in other ways.

I think it's unfair to say that she didn't give credit to those people. She had found out about them and liked their style so she incorporated it into her music. If she were asked about it back in the day, she always would've mentioned that she discovered the whole voguing scene in the gay clubs, so she would always tell that part. Plus, she also released "Truth or Dare" which really was a documentary about her life and her touring life, but just as much the life of her (mostly) gay, black/latino/arab backing dancers, who were really familiar with the voguing scene because they experienced it first-hand. Furthermore, she also really promoted safe sex and stuff - especially because of the whole AIDS crisis going on back then. She even wrote a song in freaking 1992 about two of her gay friends who died of AIDS. So I wouldn't say she didn't give credit, I think she did her part. She just didn't focus on the color of their skin but much rather on the fact that it shouldn't've mattered who they chose to love, because I think that while those clubs that voguing was invented in were filled mostly with non-whites, they were completely filled with drag queens and gay people.

@edro51188 personally I think MTV would sometimes rig the polls toward the end (possibly throughout the whole season) to ensure that their preferred crew wins. They knocked out Kaba Modern to make sure Jabba won, knocked out Fanny Pak to make sure Super Cr3w won, and did the same in season 4, although this time with Rhythm City. Season 5 was just all wrong. Season 3 has been the only season so far where the 2 best crews made it into the top two

It's hard for home viewers to really judge this routine as far as the fans go, since the performance is so heavily edited, you can't really tell what's the actual performance and what's the rehearsal.

I don't know, I think WAH did WAY better with the choreography than 8F, and there was a perfect balance between tricks and choreo to me. BUT the energy was kinda stagnant, which made the performance kinda bleh in certain spots. So I'll say 8F had the better energy, but WAH had the better choreography.
