If the US manages to create a new monetary system, presumably a new way of exchange, possibly digital universal currency backed by some percentage of gold, there must be safeguards in place to remove the use of sanctions and tariffs among Bretton Woods2 participating countries. Post WWII, the US was about at the same level of debt to GDP that we are now. Inflation ran very hot for at least 5 years. But, the rest of the currencies were really shot. Reserve currencies can carry on a lot longer than you think. Especially when there really is not a powerful.enough alternative.
