Unfortunately Mr. Hodges tells the truth. Already from the start, all those debates, NATO, EU, at the beginning of the war, we started sending helmets, vests? It is one big shame. Maybe people in the West need to be confronted directly before there will be a real reaction. What future will we face?

@@user-fq6dr8fm4o Be truthful, 1932 holodomor killed MILLIONS of Ukrainians and allowed kremlin to take economic control of Donbas. By year 1990 there were over 4-million ruzzians in Donbas trying to own Donbas and break free from kremlin taxation. These ruzzians corrupted Ukraine and ran their own mafias in Ukraine. Putler saw the opportunity to call these ruzzians "Ukra-nazis" and use the politics to confuse the world. putin and Wagner mercenaries invade Crimea. putin built the Kerch War Bridge to wage war on Ukraine and Europe. putin always intended to exterminate Ukrainian culture in order to make the bridge more secure for war on Europe. Talk about the past and talk about the future that ruzzia delivers against all decent cultures that are NOT mafia-centric. Ruzzia corrupts Belarus and seeks to corrupt (ruin) Ukraine completely.

Couldn’t agree with you more on much of what you said, but also Europe has not lived up to its responsibility. Military spending and preparedness must rise even at the expense of socialist and green programs across the EU. Saying you have met the established spending today when it does not compensate for all the years it was not met is BS. Take a look at the man who may one day control your destiny and evaluate the likelihood of him funding climate change projects. Grow up…and get serious.

Thank you, Gen. Hodges and Mr. Smart. As an armchair General, sitting here in the US, I find the current situation very frustrating. After the untold amount of money that we, the collective "west," have expended in the last 75 years, specifically to be prepared for Soviet/Russian aggression, I fail to see why we still cower in fear. Russia is no longer a superpower, yet we still treat them as if they are. Their military is weak, compared to Europe or the US. Their economy is destined to crumble. They are the preeminent pariah in the world. And yet, here we are. And our choices in November are the worst we've had in my lifetime, (a 68 year old). Biden at least "supports" Ukraine, although his adminstration's piece meal approach is ridiculous. And Trump is a loose cannon. J.D. Vance as VP? He might as well have chosen Marjorie Taylor Greene, for all the good it does Ukraine

I think Biden’s objective is a negotiated armistice agreement between Russia and Uk, like the one that ended the Korean War in 1953. This will have to involve the front line being frozen in place and turned into a DMZ. Biden’s problem is, that he publicly committed in 2022 to a “No Ukraine without Ukraine” policy - meaning that Biden can’t approach Putin and negotiate a ceasefire over Zelensky’s head (which is what Putin wants to happen). So Biden wants the initiative for a ceasefire to come from Zelensky, not himself. But Biden doesn’t want to be accused of blackmailing or abandoning Zelensky - that would be a political disaster which would cost him the U.S. election.

I was Trump supporter in 2016 and 2020 I’m originally from Ukraine My parents are still in Ukraine, they are 84yo, both blind, mom broke her spine couple months ago. I moved to live and work in Europe to be closer to my parents and visiting them once every 3-4 months. Besides of all unspeakable cruelty of russians towards my people: bombing every single day, thousands of people around without legs and arms, scary! to see kids with no eyes, no legs is a heartbreaking, no electricity 4-10 hours a day and now it’s over 100 degrees temperature! Europeans are blaming Ukrainians that they came to Europe and breathing European air. Americans are blaming Ukrainians why are they still alive and fighting instead to die and shut up. No news about Ukraine you can see today besides negatives about corruption in Ukraine. All Americans are like Biden and Trump, so all Ukrainians are like Zelenskyy. I see tons of Russians in Europe pretending they are Ukrainians. Very sad. I have American passport, education and job. But when I see what Ukrainians have to deal with my heart breaks. Europeans are treating Ukrainians like Ukraine attacked the Russia. Something is not right in this world. I don’t know what Trump thinks. He never introduced his views. On debates he kept telling how great President he WAS. But wall with Mexico never been built and Mexico never paid for wall. Oh well I’m going to Ukraine in couple weeks. Maybe Russian rocket will kill me this time.

@jefferyshute6641
@jefferyshute6641 Ай бұрын
@@NotUnymousI agree with you. Germany has done a lot to support Ukraine. But, just like my country, the US, I feel we must do much more. Many Americans are disengaged from the war in Ukraine. I think some Americans think Biden rushed over to Kyiv, and gave Zelinskyy a check for $60 Billion. Many are under the illusion that it's either fix the immigration problem at our southern border, OR, support Ukraine. One does not exclude the other. And, they don't understand that the Lion's share of the Ukraine aid stays in the US, paying American workers, and growing American industry. But, its been the political brinkmanship, especially in the House of Representatives, that is most frustrating. Unfortunately, we even hear some of our congressmen, (Marjorie Taylor Greene) spouting Russian talking points in the discussions in the House of Representatives. It's very alarming and annoying. If Trump and Vance win in November, I fear it would be bad for Ukraine. But, it's impossible to predict what Trump might do. Trump is likely to do whatrver benefits Trump. So, nobody knows. Maybe his recent "near death" experience, will foment some change in his perspective.

Neither smarts nor cajones can be so plentiful so as to make up for the utter lack of the other. POTUS had the former and lost the latter long ago, and is now operating close to the absence of both. He joins Sullivan in that distinction.

To kick the Russians out of Ukraine would not solve the problem, they will come back one day. Ukraine with our help is destroying the Russian army and economy. Then maybe in the future we see a more agreeable Russia. Ben Hodges is a clear thinking courageous man…president, why not much better then what is available now.

As always, General Hodges is brilliant and blatantly honest in his assessments of this war. I can only imagine how different this conflict would look if NATO and Biden had Ben Hodges leading our response.

This question has been 'Asked And Answered' to death already. Ukraine's on the ground saying, "Bring it, already." Back in D.C. their saying, "It's an Election year". So it goes, I do agree with General Hodges. Thanks for the Post.

I’m NO military or political strategist but what the West and the US is doing with Ukraine is akin to what the US GI was facing in Vietnam where the military had its hands tied behind its back while fighting the NVA and the VC..

As of 12:22 that aspect has not been discussed enough because maybe now it's too late. Forget about past two administrations, what about since 1991 ? Was there any way the West could have worked with Russia back then to avoid all of this now ?

As of 2005, let alone 1991, Ruzzia was still observing its treaties of friendship with Ukraine, so it wasn't obvious that Putin would transmogrify into a Hitlerian imperialistic figure.

@@RichardTaylor1630 I have to believe some experts were suspicious. There's one KZbinr with the initials PZ who claims that the attack on Ukraine was always going to happen. And he's a Global Affairs expert. Some commenters mock him, but those might be trolls

Does US policy come exclusively from the White House? What role does the Pentagon & Armed Forces play? It’s always seemed bizarre to me that this fear of escalation policy should be in the control of a couple of people…?
