A Norm Abram your not, but I enjoy your effort. What I do enjoy more is your crews dedication to always producing on all your projects a superior product. This comes from a man who poured concrete for over sixty years. Keep up the good work! Dave from Dorset

You sold me on the tape measure. I love seeing your mistakes. This is your "real" life. Happens to all of us. Tom, this is what I've wished for. In your retirement, you do all kinds of projects, sometimes you may go be with the crew and help on some of their projects, never really apart with your company, but still retired and just helping when needed. You have so many talents and equipment, and grandkids, to keep us enjoying your 'real.' Giving them away, always good stuff. Even better stuff teaching and working with your grandkids!! Awesome!! LOL, I was just thinking, you'll have a hard time getting the tape measure away from her if you let her hold it. Nice video Tom, I loved it. Thanks for sharing your real with us. Always good stuff!!❤👍🙏

Tom, you need to get a track saw sponsor. Those long cuts are a piece of cake, No more wandering blades.

It’s nice to see this kind of project where you don’t have all the fancy tools but still getting it done. 😊 When I’m saw milling logs I see a lot of bore worms just under the bark. They make the same tunnels you are seeing. The good thing is that the yellow jackets love these worms. They were coming in and cleaning them up as they were exposed. Nature at its best. 😁 I like the measuring tape but I don’t like needing batteries. For me a normal tape measure is good and I don’t have to worry about corroding batteries. That’s a big problem for me. Must be Oregon moisture. 😏

When using these laser tapes, of any kind, I will place a "block" against the leading edge and place the back of the device against that block, for a more accurate measure. Same thing with my "target" end. As to the "worm hole", those were made by boring beetles while the tree was standing. Woodpeckers LOVE to eat these beetles.

Wow that seem to be accurate. I have an old Straight Line ultrasonic and its accuracy is + or minus about an inch per foot It was always fine for just rough distance measurements on a job site, not for measuring precisely. It also has a laser light but it’s only for aiming it. Of course the commercial said it was exstreamly accurate

An overheated blade causing a wobbly cut. That's an excuse we never heard of. Maybe a draft in the room is causing the uneven cut. Surely not the operator or freehand rip. Get a track saw rail.
