Elena, i love your videos and your energy!!! Where did you get your retusa? Ive gotten a few purchases from etsy and i must say, it’s hits and misses… so don’t feel very eager to get cuttings from etsy anymore unless it’s exact plant.

I got it from this shop on Etsy: www.etsy.com/shop/theplantfarm but I don’t see Retusa for sale right now. I have pretty good luck shopping online but I try to buy when they stay you get exact plant in the picture. This way I get exactly what I want. When they say growers choice, that’s when you get cat in the bag.

This was so cool to watch!! I just got a Hoya Retusa, but I’m concerned about it because it’s leaves seem to be more yellow than green. I haven’t watered it yet - so I know it’s not being overwatered. Could it be getting too much sun? I have it in the window… I have to go back and watch what’s in your propagation box - I’m not sure if I saw it or not, but I’d love to see what you use for your regular plants! Thank you so much! 💚 I am so glad you enjoyed this video. Yellow leaves usually is being overwatered. if it’s overwatered they really turn yellow. I would know, I’ve done it. 😂 But if it’s very light green then it could be too much sun. Try to move to a different location and see if leaf color improves, if not I would probably check the root system. You might have not watered it yet but you don’t know if it was overwatered before you got it. Also it might need fertilizer, that’s another option. Best part about having videos out there, they are always there if you need to go back to refresh your memory.😊

@@ElenasGreenPlanet I will move it and see if that helps. Do you let it completely dry out before watering it again? I have other Hoyas and I really let them dry out - like, I only water them every two weeks or so… should I do the same with the others (Retusa, Pubicalyx and Macrophylla)? There is a 30 day warranty on the plants so if it was overwatered when I got it, I should be entitled to a replacement. Hopefully, moving it will help! Thank you for your help! 💜💚

Watering advice is very tricky because it’s all depends on your environment, soil, size of the pot and sun exposure. It might be very different for you than it is for me. I do water it about once a week, it’s in a 4 inch pot, it’s the same schedule as most of my Hoyas. When I water all of my Hoyas I always squeeze lightly their leaves if they feel softer then usual then I know for sure they need water. If they feel firm I usually leave them alone for another week. I hope it helps. Also it could be still adjusting to a new environment. Plants get really stressed out from shipping. I had one Hoya that arrived to me with yellow leaves and they recovered and turn back to green overtime. I was pretty surprised usually you can’t really save yellow leaves. Just give it time. You will get to know your plant very soon and it will be very easy one.😊

@@ElenasGreenPlanet Okay. Yes, it’s very easy for me to see on the Compacta because it wrinkles up, but the new ones have such thin leaves to begin with… maybe I’ll try my moisture meter and use that until I can “read” the leaves.

I don’t see why not. As long as it doesn’t have any kind of bugs in it. I put boiling water in it to rehydrate, and it will also kill anything in it😊.
