4 cords of Tamarack and Red Fir

6 to 7 cords when I measured. But I just split weekly. As long as the landscapers keep dropping it off, I should never run out.

@@68spc nice! Do you have the newer CB edge (more efficient version of my wood boiler)?

@@Homesteadhow no. 16 year old Empyre 450. No longer made. I actually cringe at the idea of a new furnace because I like putting in big wood that isn't seasoned. Your video with the new ones made me worry that I wouldn't be able to put my style of wood in it.

@@68spc i agree! I love the idea of less wood usage but just this last week I put in some huge full rounds and they burn a long time...I'd miss that

Both chainsaws perform great and there is no better way to finish that tree cutting

I found it amusing that during the statement to the people who would complain about you destroying the forest and you giving your explanation that you had 2 or 3 baby trees in the frame.

what is the purpose of burning wood outside in a separate building? Does the heat get piped into somewhere else?
@Homesteadhow2 жыл бұрын
This is called an outdoor woodburner. It Burns wood which boils water the water is pumped to our house and it heats several units it's great for heating multiple different units and heats our upstairs rental unit furnace our downstairs furnace it heats all of our hot water and it heats our garage these are great for heating many units.

What’s everyone’s opinion on how “thin” to split a round? I try to get mine about 5-6” wide at the bark end, I’ve found if I just quarter most rounds they’re too big and and I have to keep moving them around in the fireplace to get them to burn up. Quartering and then halving those 4 wedges seems to do the trick

Are you going to use the wood from that tree right away, because it seemed a little on the green side to burn effectively. Just curious
