This manages to top every prior high point. I watched it having just watched partway into the original, and it still ends up making more than enough sense, all the little random characters and background references aren't actually usually important to understanding it even if it just adds some layers (a lot of it really does end up just being references). It really ends up taking the absolute core and heart of the shows (from an emotional/thematic standpoint) and condensing it into one precise story.
