Noah's acting in that car scene with Mike was incredible.. the writers and Noah have done a great job at protraying the anxiety and confusion teens coming to terms with their sexuality so well, it makes me so emotional everytime I watch it

@@littlesparrow303 they never said that & he really doesn’t have to “come out” - I feel like a lot of you are forgetting this takes place in the mid 80s - it was very diff back then worse than now & the whole aids pandemic was happening and everything. Robin hasn’t came out to anyone besides Steve either. I think Will may have that moment in season 5 tho, but it’s important Jonathan said what he did to him because it lets Will know when he does feel comfortable talking about it Jonathan is there for him.

I was the same age as these characters in the mid 80's and also gay. I remember feeling EXACTLY how Will felt in that car scene, feeling like a mistake and knowing it would be suicide to let even those closest to you to ever find out. The layered acting in that scene was done perfectly!

@@iris-xo I agree, but I DO think he will be coming out as gay in s5. This is the quote from the Duffers: "This emotional arc for him is what we feel is going to hopefully tie the whole series together. Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one that’s being protected. So part of his journey, it’s not just sexuality - it’s Will coming into his own as a young man." So I'm guessing he'll come out but it won't be the only thing going with him next season. I'm excited!

wills was indirectly trying to tell mike how he feels through eleven in the car scene he does need him but he likes mike which was why he was saying “she’s” different and that causes “her” to feel like a mistake but obviously mike isn’t gonna get that😭

i mean, he was speaking about himself, yes, but i wouldn't put it as him coming out or confessing. he very much tried to /avoid/ doing that, by saying El commissioned the painting and speaking of her. he isn't ready to come out to anyone yet, much less Mike of all people. especially since he can barely accept himself at this point

I think he’s definitely very supportive of mike and el and he’s come to accept it, he’s their friend, and he’s trying to give advice without telling him he feels the way El does, it was a subtle coming out to the viewers

so many of us didn’t event notice😭but Looking back at season 1, it was hinted. Joyce mentioned that will dad dad & kids at school call him the f word and “queer”. I think Jonathan knows too. In the first episode, at mikes house...everyone left home but will stayed behind with mike, and it seemed like Will cared what mike thought. Idk if he has a crush on mike or just Wants him to be the first friend to know!

Will giving Mike that emotional support while secretly crying because he can't be open himself about his true feelings is my villain origin story. He's always been someone who puts everyone else's needs before himself. But it always makes him unhappy. Will should get to tell Mike. He should get to be happy. I have never felt more conflicted watching a character in this show than with this guy. He did bad. But even despite the bumps along the way, El still cried when she saw him bleeding out. Despite everything, they had a bond. A strange bond, but a bond nonetheless. And he let her go.
