It's sad to think only about 3% of the American population is Native Americans, they're the ones who started it all! They deserve some recognition and respect.

There are no chosen people. Stop that. That's exactly what got so many of killed and so many tribes genocided! I'm so DAMNED TIRED of the abrahamic rhetoric and it's damage! Every person is created by the creator and is precious! No one is chosen and more important than another! The white man used that same crap to terrorize indigenous people worldwide and justify thier horrible treatment of others. Stop it!

I live in 'Indian' country in midwest. My son in AZ. I go to Pow-wows. My friend teaches language. They are not so invisible when you are rural near their land. Many areas have events that are open to the public. Go to the events (btw, their clothes are called regalia, and ask to take a pic of some types of ppl in regalia. Might have spiritual meaning. If a dance is called inter- tribal, you can join in.) They are beautiful and really fun. Watch out for plastic shamans in the white world. Natives don't sell rituals. They don't mix tribal traditions. Or mix tradition with new age stuff. And just don't appropriate. No Halloween head dresses, okay? With love from a friend to my native sisters and brothers.

They can barely even keep their culture alive. Hundreds of Millions of Native Americans BEFORE the Europeans came, today there is only 500.000- 1 Million. You should be ashamed of yourself! Your culture is not dead. It is in you, just bring it back. I'm from eastern Europe and good people feel your pain. There are people here that send good thought to your great nation and culture. In Europe people are going back to the roots . Culture that was buried is the real thing. What we see around us today is greed culture, this is ending because it has no future. Keep fighting for your history and heritage. Real culture never dies, you can feel it in your soul. I send you love and good thoughts from the other side of the world.

We Are Still Here. The amazing fact that Native Americans had built such great civilizations as Mayan, Inca and Aztec without outside help, and all from the scratch, and all on their own, since they had been cut off from the rest of the world for ten of thousand of years. In other words, they actually are great and proud people. All they need is their beloved father lands back, the lands that their ancestors had lived through thick and thin, endured through hardships and all. Moreover, the hidden mega genocide of indigenous native American population in continents of America 500 yrs ago was around 15 millions, while European population in Europe was around 20 millions. Today, Native population at 15 million, while European population ( in continents of America + Europe) at a staggering 'ONE BILLION'! So, what would it be like today if native Americans have possessed some sort of nuclear weapons to defend themselves? The answer is they would still have their own beloved motherlands, plus their population comparable to that of European population. I've no doubt about that. In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people. remember, notorious Slavery as well as Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is this another notorious Colonization still lingering on? Google 'Continents of America is Not a New World/China Daily' for more. blog.chinadaily.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=820652

I am a 1/2 Northern Cheyenne 1/2 Oglala Lakota sioux a full Native and proud to be who I am. We are still here and living in our own exsistance of racial slurs and hate toward our culture because we are who we are. I do appreciate those who do try to understand what we go through and what our ancestors went through for me to be typing this today. God made me an Native!!!

I recently biked across the country which took me through two Indian Reservations. Being from the East, I had no true exposure to what Native life is like. It broke my heart biking through the reservations. I had always thought Natives lived untouched by American culture much like the Amish. I'm ashamed of my ancestors for consciously destroying such a beautiful culture and people. It's inhumane. I wish there were something I could do.

Ja Z Thanks, and know the same is returned. Many of us have never been to the east, especially since the Conquest of the Americas. The People think dark skin is African-American, when the world was dark until the Napoleonic wars. They've slowly committed genocide to create the illusion of inferiority. If properly pronounced Powhatan is Powwow-Dan or Priests of Dan or Danite Priests. The etymology explains why Europe had Hebrew interpreters on every ship. The word Hebrew... Hebrew (adj.) late Old English, from Old French Ebreu, from Latin Hebraeus, from Greek Hebraios, from Aramaic (Semitic) 'ebhrai, corresponding to Hebrew 'ibhri"an Israelite." Traditionally from an ancestral name Eber, but probably literally "one from the other side," perhaps in reference to the River Euphrates, or perhaps simply signifying "immigrant;" from 'ebher "region on the other or opposite side." The initial H-was restored in English from 16c. As a noun from c. 1200, "the Hebrew language;" late 14c. in reference to persons, originally "a biblical Jew, Israelite." They went to great lengths hiding the truth by murder and teaching HIS-STORY in compulsory PUBLIC SCHOOLS/MILITARY INDOCTRINATION CENTERS. These creatures have no soul, so they are incapable of dealing in honor. Honor is pure, and there's no Purity in those having Neanderthal and canine DNA mixed with the DNA of man. Tribe Up!!!!! Haya and Hawa are the feminine and masculine names for the great spirit. Now you tell me what the Indians are always chanting in film and tv? Haya Haya or Hawa Hawa, so nice we have to say it twice!!!! Think about the Tribe of Judah or Udah/Utah, where you find Mount Nebo Ann Goshen and all the places Moses/Moshe walked. Aztlan is the Land of Adam, the Americas. Also New Jerusalem/Perusalem. The letter j didn't exist until Europeans added it.

I was so happy to come across this video. I am an 18 year old Australian, who has a major passion and interest in Native American culture for years now. It makes me thoroughly disappointed in the education system for how they portray history, even of my own Indigenous people. The photos of young people stripped of traditional clothing, culture and language and torn from their family brings me to tears. Native American people are so courageous right to the core and it is absolutely inspiring!! It is devastating to me how much of your culture has been lost that may never be recovered because of the assimilation forced upon your people. I intend to teach my children the truth!! As far as I'm concerned, the culture and strength of the Native American people is more beautiful than any tourist attraction America has to offer. There were enough resources here to share but when met with compassion and generosity Native people were treated with disrespect, violence, hatred, greed and taken advantage of. Sending unconditional love, strength and encouragement to all Native people

Thank you for sharing this story. I have been financially extremely poor my entire 71 years. I have never required money as I was raised to survive without Society’s words of neediness. I am BIA registered Jicarilla. A mixed blood and have never visited any Rez. I was raised white & beaten severely as an illegally stolen child that was adopted by whites illegally also. They did not desire anyone to know that I am Apache. 13 years combat as USMC Devil Dog taught me much. I have learned we must be thankful. We must stay united. And we all should love one another. The Great Mystery meant for us to suffer and work very hard. That is life! White Society has provided me with much suffering thru 12 near death attempts to kill me. Stay true to Spirit. The Great Mystery has always protected me and punished those aggressors, by itself. I am American Indian! Even whites born here can claim to be Native American and I am not one of them. Do not let them assimilate you into their system. It is corrupt, disrespect able, and deadly to The American Indian.

Native Americans thank you for your beautiful culture, traditions and belives. You have a great wisdom and love for nature, You know the true values, You are the hope for the future. Be proud who You are and never give up!!. Cruelty to your ancestors was the biggest crime in worlds history, I will never forget it!!.... I wish we could change the past, I wish USA would give back your land, they have no right to treat you that way!

So, what, just displace everyone who currently lives on the land? I grew up where I am, and have many generations here. My 8th great grandfather is buried about an hour away. At that point you're just committing another crime to try and fix the first one.

Why in western culture is it acceptable to force beliefs or destroy people or places? School is mandatory, environmental destruction is accepted, people are jailed unreasonably, billions of animals are killed through a factory-like system, and slave labor is still existent as a result. Why? Beautiful video, it opened my eyes up a lot, and I think it was great that the woman's son has the experience of learning his culture!

I am white, but to me there is nothing more beautiful or heart felt than the Native Americans. I don't know about all tribes but what I have learned from you tube is wonderful. I love all the music and the dances. I would love to learn the language of the Cherokee and others if at all possible. I will continue to learn about Native Americans and maybe I'll learn a few words. Also, I am so sorry how the white man treated you. Love you all, you are blessed.

This documentary made me cry. Please, teach your ancestors' languages to your children, the language is the KEY to mantain traditions, cultures and ways to understand the world. Don't let your languages die, it's the main key to guarantee the survival of your culture.

My Father, who is dead now was half white (from Italian immigrants) And half American Indian. He also died of sclerosis of the liver because of alcoholism. He looked like a Native American but most would assume he was a Mexican person. Hey, I look as White as white can be and whenever I tell someone I am 25 percent native I have to state" I really am" because other White folks ruined it for me! Hell, when a White person comes around who truly is of Native descent nobody believes him because so many say it. It kinda sucks. Anyway, God bless my Native brothers and sisters out there. Keep the culture alive and the native spirit alive. I admire and respect my Native ancestors.

Justin Draeger I had a few friends in high school who were 1/4 Native and 3/4 white, and I believed them. I think a lot of whites are really telling the truth when they say they've got Native in them; it's about as common as having Irish or German or Russian in you. What I roll my eyes at, though, is the people who can totally carried away with it, insisting that they be labeled as "mixed raced" or get benefits from tribes just because they have one grandparent or great-grandparent who's Native. It would be like me calling myself a Russian and expecting the Russian government to treat me like a citizen just because my great-grandma was Russian.

Thank you. Your culture is in ALL of us; so many Native foods, words, crafts, clever hunting/gathering and survival skills have helped people here and throughout the world. The more I learn about Native history, the more I move beyond the sorrow to see the joy in God's Creation around us.
