Sure you could do everything there but it was all under the table. A friend of mine got 39 lashes and 3mths jail because admitted in a court he was drinking a beer. I dont see a need to pronounce western values as "superior". They just happen to be best for me. If I was born in other parts of the world - I would most likely say the same thing about the culture there. On the debate about the quality of values. 'Superior' and 'inferior' are inherentely relative. So, when you flee a certain place, the very choice of your destination validates the superiority of the latter.
