It's a weird argument though because Jace having a dragon was never proof that he was legitimate in anyone's eyes. Everyone already knows that Jace is a bastard and also that he has a dragon, so the notion that bastards can have dragons is obvious to all, including the Greens. Literally nobody thought Jace was legitimate just because he had a dragon, so these other bastards claiming dragons as well changes absolutely nothing in terms of perception. In private, Oscar admitted to Daemon that the Riverlords don’t respect him because he is green boy and a kid. The only way they would is if Oscar talked shit to Daemon in public. Daemon understood that because Daemon needs his army. It’s not that hard to understand. Simon was afraid of what would be too far with the shit talk that’s why he gave that look and oh dear like Daemon literally said i dont need their love, i need their swords man dgaf about shittalking from Oscar Understand how these things work. He was giving Daemon the army he needed and the reason he came to the Riverlands. The failure to understand nuances and how things work in a story is insane with this channel. They only get what is thrown to their faces.

Oscar essentially did do as you described but I think it was more ingenious than simply doing what's needed to get Damon what he wants. That kid was very smart and strategic. He was able to reinforce his people's faith in him as their new young Lord he was able to show defiance towards Damon but allegiance towards the queen and he was able to humble or silence Damon as well as reducing him to an executioner for him in regard to rectifying his mistakes. Long story short he scolded Damon in front of all of those people it was theatrical, but I believe it was an extension of Oscar's true feelings as well as his oratory prowess. When Oscar told Damon that the people there hate him, Oscars look in his eyes showed he meant Everyone and him hate Damon. The normies sometimes do this but I think it's not intentional it's just them trying to keep certain things neutral. But I can sympathize with you as far as reactors that acting like they can't see the forest through the trees. Meaning that they can only dissect a scene at face value but don't understand the nuance. But I kind of like that about this series that even though many of us can clearly understand a scene they do leave subtleties that can be ambiguous or potentially misleading to those that aren't following closely.

So the dragon Hugh got was his grandfather’s and the dragon Ulf got was his grandmother’s which makes it that more interesting that it’s definitely something within the blood and also Ulf didn’t destroy any eggs he just stepped on the nest and dragon eggs are extremely durable and can’t be easily crushed by someone simply stepping on one it’d require a tremendous amount of force to squash one. Now as for Larys he was a fool for not telling Aemond about Seasmoke getting a new rider had he done so Aemond would have made sure no one left King’s Landing and Ulf And Hugh would never have been able to get to Dragonstone so really they screwed themselves with that

Blackfyre is the sword of Aegon the Conqueror. It's the one you see Viserys holding when he's sitting on the throne. When a later king legitimised his bastard son Daemon and gave him the sword, he took the name Daemon Blackfyre. He eventually rose up against the new king, his half-brother, in the first of several Blackfyre rebellions. But that won't happen until about 70 years after this. You'll eventually hear a lot more about that in the Dunk and Egg series, which takes place in the aftermath of the rebellion.

Princess Saera Targaryen, who was the daughter of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne, is Hugh's mother. In Fire & Blood, Saera is described as tempestuous, demanding, and disobedient. After a scandal and years of fighting with King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne, Princess Saera was sent to Oldtown. From there she fled across the Narrow Sea to Lys and started working in a pleasure house. Saera was known to have at least 3 bastard sons, but may have had more.
