I was an original London mod back in '64-'66 (now 75) and fortunate at the time to live in the West End. A regular at the Scene, Last Chance and Flamingo doing the all-nighters.... Hung up my full length leather and mohair suit long time ago. We Soho mods didn't have scooters main mode of transit was the tube. I am now retired living in the south of France. Great memories.

Maybe you can answer this question ...was there, is there any MOD culture in France ...were the WHO , JAM others big there or not at all ? Have you ever come across Vespas, Lambrettas with all the MOD gear in your travels? Thx
@derekarnold36653 ай бұрын
@@paulmaguire2737 Hi, there was a small Mod culture in Paris during the mid-sixties. The Who, The Animals were really popular followed in the later seventies by the Jam etc. Yes Vespas were popular and still are (not so much Lambrettas).

If i could time travel, it'd be straight back to 64 enjoying the vibe everything new and exciting, the mod scene just got started music was going crazy with brilliance, lads did fight and do drugs girls also, but it never was at a serious level back then, ppl knew enough was enough back off, even now i watch ppl still on The big summer Runs all meeting greeting haven't seen you since last year, fewer off the Originals ever year that's why in 2025 im driving from Southern Ireland to Brighton, still haven't found a 60's Lambretta or even early 70's probably will end up buying a restored scooter for crazy money, want to do this before im to old and while i can still enjoy it last few ride outs before my scooter Days are over should get 10 or more good ones to Brighton, was thinking of the Royal alloy sticking on Lamy badges but a twist and go scooter wouldn't be the same for me, theirs things you can do with a clutch lever an automatic can never do, maybe when im ancient old ill look different on Royal Alloy beautiful looking bike should of made some with foot break and gears and clutch 🇮🇪✌️🇬🇧

Too many silent videos with scooters just following scooters down the road going too fast to see what the scooters look like. Brilliant, keep the content coming.

Not a badge or patch in sight...and didn't take scooters that seriously. The few scooters around were plain with no mirrors or lights.Our main mode of transport were classic sports cars.
