This song I performed on the piano with a fellow student who sang the song at a meeting in Leiden (the Netherlands). I heard this song sung for the first time by Joni Eareckson-Tada when I suffered from schizophrenia. After 30 years of suffering God has healed me because a friend had faith for healing. On her simple prayer I was healed! Praise the LORD! I now work as a Bible teacher for ten years already in a home church.

I have known this song since it was first released a long time ago. This has become my favorite version of it. When I want my worship teams to do this song, this is the version I show them to learn from. I love how you found a way to do the bridge without a key change, that has always been a big sticking point with this song for singers. Very nice!

Oh yes! Thanks for pointing that out. That is the actual Avalon original lyrics. (The lyrics on our description had the wrong one.) It changes from 'were' to 'are' after the bridge section. I think Avalon used past-tense and present tense as His death and resurrection are not just a past event, it still applies today.
