My Murphy ancestors are of Wexford. My great grandfather Patrick Murphy was a boatman there until coming to America in the late 1870s, after marrying Mary Lacy. Would love to visit someday.

This was beautiful! My grandfathers family was from New Ross. Though me and my father were born outside of Ireland we still feel great affinity to the nation and Wexford particularly. It’s in our blood and most of all our hearts.

A magnificent Irish County where where me mate , Noel and I spent one glorious summer, GET THIS, in the summer of 1976. Spent a couple of days in Wexford then travelled over to Ballyhack and Arthurstown. The people there were absolutely wonderful. We were treated like kings. Noel's nan was originally from Arthurstown and his mum went to school there, during the war. A few of the men in Ballyhack, brought us to Cork to see the ALL IRELAND HURLING Semi-Final between Wexford and Galway. We had a grand time, especially since the lads in Purple and Gold won the match. The train ride back was quite the party. I think the drink had something to do with that. LOL. Having family from back home, we knew all the songs. The lads were astounded that Noel and I, 2 lads from Canada, would actually start a few of the tunes. We had to tell them that our families were originally from this area. It's been so long since I was there. I'd love to go back and hopefully one day, visit there with me wife. My wife is from Liverpool, the unofficial capitol of Ireland, LOL. Her roots are Irish as well. Anyway, a grand video and ta for this great video.

I was watching videos about the wexford accent and realized this was your channel. My parents are both from the Cape Shore, Newfoundland and the Wexford accent sounds so familiar to me.

@@maideegirl189 lots of Newfoundlanders do not like "Newfie" as it was initially intended to be somewhat derogatory. Touchy subject at times.
