We went along to the unveiling of Jan Molby's mural to speak to the Liverpool legend and his new comic friend, Troy Hawke.
The mural, designed by the brilliant ‪@murwalls3201‬, is located next to the Trent Alexander-Arnold mural near Anfield Stadium.

Love the mural. Never got to see the legend play as it was a few years before I started watching football. One of the first names I learned about and watched plenty of clips. Got to watch Agger follow in his footsteps. Now we have Sofie Lundgaard flying the danish flag for the women’s first team. Hopefully she’ll become a legend just like Jan. YNWA🏆🧣

Troy is great & I even called my Great Dane Molby in honour at time. There's a great example of Jan leaving centre circle to score v utd if you can find. Shame proper cameras weren't there goal of season if they were.

Its weird the way some EX-LIVERPOOL PLAYERS stay in LIVERPOOL/MERSEYSIDE when there career is over with?? Love the MURAL I wish we had JAN MOLBY in our MIDFIELD today but he'd probably get a RED CARD every other GAME 😂👍

It seems to be mainly players from the late 70’s/80’s, and the ones who spent years at the club. Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen both live in the birkdale area. Molby and then Rafa who obvs is the exception there who live on the Wirral. Some of shankly’s players remained in Liverpool for years too once they stopped playing football.
